I have been to zoo's all over the world, and I do not recommend anyone visit this zoo. My sister took me this summer on my trip to Alberta, and I was shocked that Alberta, Canada allows animals to live in such bad conditions. This is the worst looking zoo I have ever been to in my life. There were old carcasses with the lions and tigers, not nice and fresh but very old and rotten. The cages for the big cats are way too small and all cages I saw were very, very dirty with rotten food and feces. I was taken to see some lemurs, and the owner made them scream, thinking it was funny but those poor lemurs were truly scared, I have never seen a primate act so frightened in a zoo before. When I asked the owner Lyn about my issues with him doing that, the small cages his reply is they don't know any better and so they don't need anything bigger, the animals don't care where they live and I was over reacting to when he scared them. They had a baby lynx kitten living with the lemurs with a bunch of domestic kittens, and it wasn't very clean, it was a very dark cage. I asked if the lynx was an orphan and was told no. They took it from its mother and made it used to humans so kids could hold it when the came, Bill, one of the workers, said it was a big attraction. They don't seem to care about the basic needs of animals, the animals had no toys or enrichment at all,. almost every animal I saw paced back and forth in its cage the entire time I was there. I've never felt so sad for the animals at zoo before, normally I feel the animals are pretty lucky, but not at this zoo. I will never go back. read more
