My husband noted:"Watch out for the red hot sauce. Try a little on your gyro before committing the whole thing. ". He also noted that the gyro meat is not sliced off the "show piece" gyro meat. We were not served gyro meat. They were cutting up some precooked meat on the grill. It was big piles of cut up chicken and beef or lamb meat. Looks like it came out of a bag or something. I ordered the Chapli kebab gyro and was very disappointed. I have had this same dish at other places, including Afghan Village. Instead of cooking the patty on the flattop, they deep fried it. The worker then proceeded to add tomato and cucumbers, after I ordered it without them. I was reminding here, as she was doing it, but she just ignored me. Stated they were out of my order but Still wanted to take my money. They Cancelled my order and said there's nothing they can do but called me to let me know they will still be taking my money. They also reminded me it was my responsibility to ensure my order was going to fixed. They refused to negotiate possible substitutions or other compromises and said they were too busy to talk longer. Finally!! Gyro King has made its way to Clear Lake! Now us suburbanites don't have to drive into the loop for good halal platters. I visited on today for a quick to-go. The restaurant is clean and the staff are taking the appropriate safety measures during this global pandemic. The service was fast and my chicken over rice was amazing, per usual. The value is always outstanding. There is so much food that I can never finish my platters in one sitting. This is the best lamb gyro plate in the area. I love how they chop their gyros to smaller pieces. The rice that comes with it complements the gyro well. It also comes with a salad with olives, pickles, jalapeños and chick peas. I don't really care for the pickles and jalapeños with this dish but the chick peas is blood with it. I usually get the sauces on the side or else I feel heavy eating all of it. The chicken to me is a little dry and bland and not really my favorite here. I am opening a store right across the street from these guys and so have been in several times over the past few weeks. I also DoorDash from them since it is super fast (about 15-20 minutes). The food is pretty good. I really like the fries, and they don't go overboard on the veggies on their gyros. I haven't tried the chicken yet, but people who have said it was good. I usually get the lamb gyros. The falafel is good too, but the last time I ordered it was a little crumbly. Their tzatziki (they call it "white sauce" I think) is fairly mild on the cucumber, which is good for my taste. The chili paste is pretty fiery - go easy on it until you've tried it out. Good place for keto/low carb diets too - you can get the meals done in a bowl with your own choices of what goes in, so no pita or rice or whatever. read more

First - the good things: The customer service was good, nice guy. The juice was made right in front of me and was fresh and delicious. The gyro on the other hand was ok - but what people need to know the most about it was - they put hot sauce on the gyros! So if you don't like that, please tell them NO red sauce. I have never had hot sauce on a gyro before and was definitely not expecting it. And my first bite was WAY spicy. Some of you are saying "That sounds great" and I understand that - but this information was for those of us that DON'T want hot sauce on a gyro. I went last Sunday and the lettuce was really brown and not clean at all. It wasn't even washed. You could tell there was visible dirt on the lettuce, and no it wasn't the spices. I could tell looking at the lettuce from the service window it wasn't fresh but I didn't know they didn't even wash it until I got home! Also the airconditioning went out so they had a giant fan blowing hot air in the restaurant. I threw out half my order since I didn't trust it, I wasn't going to get sick off this crappy lettuce. Always a great choice. We ordered the combo platters which are a favorite. I am also super impressed with the customer service. The staff was able to accommodate my request to separate the rice and neat from the salad so it would be easier for reheating. The restaurant is clean and food is fresh. Food was incredible! Had the lamb gyro and the lamb platter. They give you giant bottles of self serve hot sauce and tzatziki sauce when you dine in. The lamb was tender, fluffy and crispy all at the same time. Good food at great prices, no frills. The portion sizes for a gyro pita are generous, though perhaps not extravagant. The food was hot and well-seasoned, and the vegetables were fresh and well-proportioned. Soft drinks come in cans rather than from a fountain. I would also note, as some other reviewers have, that the gyro meat was served chopped in large cubes rather than in the typical thin shavings from the rotisserie, which I found to be an unusual and untraditional way of presenting this food. I would recommend this place, and plan to return, though I will probably ask for my gyro to be shaved from the rotisserie à la grecque. The restaurant was neat and clean, though quite loud, between a noticably audible hood fan and an apparently large quantity of meat being chopped on the griddle, to the point of making ordering and conversation difficult. For those sensitive to such issues, half the staff wore masks and the others did not. read more

Unfortunately after reading these post reviews I have not had the same experience. My husband and I went in there about a week ago and we ordered just to 2 gyro sandwich. when we got the sandwich, the meat was cut up in squares. Not your traditional way of doing a Greek Gyro. The meat texture was like a potted meat. We were not impressed and will not be going back. I don't understand how they can label themselves as Gyro King when they don't even know how to make a proper gyro. Sorry but maybe they can step it up read more

Love this place!! Super friendly staff. The lady up front was super informative and super welcoming. You get a lot for your money as well. I had the lamb gyro and for $8 bucks & I got a giant sandwich. My husband got the chicken platter for around $12 and he had enough for two meals with lots of rice and meat with chicken peas, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and giadiniera. Very disappointing. We had two lamb gyros and they were so spicy my wife could not eat hers. She actually choked on the first bite because there's was so much chili sauce in there. I never had a Gyro with hot chili sauce before. The fries were the limp and soggy. These were frozen crinkle cut fries cooked in a deep fryer. I guess they just weren't cooked long enough. The place is clean and the staff was friendly but I noticed a large pile of the Gyro meat piled up on a flat top.Most places cut it and then serve it. We were very disappointed. read more

He rang me up for some fry combo, I said no I want a gyro combo, he never got it so I just ordered the sandwich, I made sure I wanted lamb from that thing standing up he said yea, I saw him put something from a hot drawer, when he gave it to me I asked again if that was lamb he said yes. Don't expect your order to be correct. I've tried 4 different times. They are zero for four. Missing parts of my order, that I was charged for, and had to leave a message. No one answered the phone.
