After walking along the charming Smögenbryggan we were quite a bit hungry. It was a hot day and we were looking for some good seafood with tables out and some shade. And this place had it all. Our dog was welcome as well. The host / manager showed us to the table. A fun guy - a bit strange humour, but a nice guy. We ordered a plate with King Crab legs and shrimp and a shrimp sandwich. Two glasses of white wine with. Food was fantastic and plenty. Fresh ingredients, good flavours. Shrimps nice and tender. Wine was the perfect match for the seafood - but a bit pricey with 10 bucks a glass. It was nice sitting here, watching the world go by and enjoying some really good seafood. All in all a great choice for lunch. Will come back one day. read more

I can hardly find the words to adequately describe our experience at Göstas Fiskbutik, it was that incredible. We've been living in Norway for about 5 months now, and decided to venture to Sweden for a weekend since a friend was visiting from Seattle. We all love seafood and were definitely in the mood for something great, and Göstas Fiskbutik delivered! We showed up on Saturday around 11:30 but sadly they weren't open until noon... no problem, we went down the dock a bit for some coffee and a muffin. By the time we worked our way back it was about 12:30 and it was pretty full already! We sat up at the bar that faces out towards the dock and water, talk about great view! Our waiter, I can't remember his name, he was awesome! Super service, one of those that realizes your needs before you even have to ask. We had several beers, the moules frites and the seafood platter. OUTSTANDING seafood! We ate every scrap. I couldn't get over the taste of the shrimp, it was the best ever. The crayfish, the rock crab, the mussels, man oh man. I literally want to rent another car and head down this weekend for more :) Any visitors while we live in Norway will be treated to a journey to Göstas Fiskbutik, and Sweden in general. We had the greatest food, views, and met the nicest locals. If you're in the area you have to visit Göstas Fiskbutik, heck even if you aren't, it's worth planning a special trip to Smögen. read more

Great restaurant right on the water. Fish and chips was perfect - not overly fried or oily, and had a great shrimp/tartar sauce mixture with it, plus pickled red onions that were delicious. Everyone loved their meals, seafood based - shrimp soup, mussels with sauce, etc. highly recommended!! read more
