As well my trade in was devalued due to the Carfax report flagging a discrepancy in the odometer reading which Island Ford said was odometer rollback. After submitting a ticket to Carfax they investigated and found it was a data entry mistake. Island Ford refused to refund the difference in the trade in and actually stated that I lied about the Carfax. Stay clear of this dealership and especially the sales manager.

Spent a lot of money for a service to be done right the first time and I'm left with very sub par results. I spent a couple thousand dollars for an engine rebuild with too many issues to list here but will say at 34, 000 km on the rebuild I'm using upwards of 1.5 litres of oil a month! Not to mention Dave had my vehicle sitting for almost 6 weeks at his shop while he made excuse after excuse. My vehicle actually molded on the inside because it sat damp for so long. I had lots of other work done to the vehicle by Dave around this time as well with crappy results. Note: had my clutch swapped out and asked if I could keep the used part that was coming out of the vehicle and he had the odacity to ask why I would want the used part. Made me wonder had I not asked for the old part, would of he actually done the job? I would have been none the wiser. This man will lie through his teeth all while staring you in the eye. I have never been taken advantage of this much in my entire life. Also be aware that he is very passive agressive and can turn on a dime if you confront him. He said just let me have a quick look under the hood. He found that my air filter had not been put back properly and that is what was causing my issue. He was out at my car for about 45 minutes he said the car seems to be running much better now. He also said let us know if you have any problems and we will book you an appointment. Sep 30 received…read morea call from Kal Tire saying that the wheels I had in storage had not been transported from the Nanaimo shop where storages are apparently kept. This being the case I was rescheduled to Oct 3. On October 5 - a day after the wheels had finally arrived in Duncan, I waited 2 hours for my car to be ready despite the knowledge that I had already been inconvenienced. When the service technician brought the car back 5o me the first time, he noticed that the front office had not indicated that there were locking bolts sitting on the front seat that needed to be used. The service technician then took the car back on the hoist to put the correct bolts on. This took another 30 min - the technician blamed front office staff for not writing on the work order that the bolts were sitting there on the passenger seat. Now I understand that sometimes staff doesn't show up and that can cause delays but shouldn't the customer be called to advise there may be an extreme wait? I am not impressed.

As there are normally hidden charges and unexpected charges on near everything these days,...I make…read morea specific point of asking the total cost prior to getting any work done. When they tell me the cost I ask again,...."are there are any other hidden costs of charges and every time they say "no", that is the price. I get the work done. And exactly on cue the bill comes in with 2 other additional charges before taxes. I asked for "TOTAL COST". And the total cost is not what they say it is. Then use taxes as an excuse for not telling u the real price. Yes we have to pay taxes and extortion fees but why do they not tell u about extra cost for oil when they know exactly what the car takes,...and why do they not tell u of the environ fee,...and why do they not tell u the total cost which should include the taxes?? When u ask for the TOTAL charge I very much resent this and especially as when I inquired about this was met with kinda snarky/fed up look with a bold reply to crush my asking. His face completely changed. This was from the native guy who I believe overlooks the operation or perhaps a supervisor. and bowled over reply. Guy who did the actual oil change was great but I will not return. So typical to conveniently leave out these extra charges to get u to get the work done with them,...then there is no turning back.
