I used Harold for 2 years successfully for my wife and I tax returns. For our third third year with him, our experience was dramatically different from the previous years. In our third year, Harold was completely unprofessional. For the third year, we provided all documentation for our taxes to Harold via his secure link. We followed up with Harold via email to confirm he received it and his response was thanks. Then when we got client copies of returns, Harold was questioned about the numbers not being accurate. Harold then blamed us for him not having correct information even though he confirmed via email he got it. On top of it, he then tried to charge us an additional $300 on top of his filing fee due to an accounting error he made. When we told Harold we had no problem paying his initial invoice if he corrected his mistake on our taxes Harold refused to correct his mistake. It was brought to Harold's attention that legally we could not sign our tax returns knowing that they're inaccurate. Ultimately, Harold decided to "terminate" us as clients rather than correcting his mistakes. All the information mentioned in this review, I have in emails proving my version of events.

The first year, Dean Labelle quoted me a price not knowing that I had a small business and still honored the lower price. This year I received a late penalty for my 2018 state taxes even know I sent of the payment before April15 . When I called the Illinois Department of Revenue they said it was because I owed them $550 and $500 is the maximum you can owe before penalties. The representative suggested I send off the $39 penalty with a note requesting "abatement of late estimated  payment penalty" --- I figured I should call Dean and get his advice. He advised me NOT to send any payment and he offered to write a letter for me.  I decided to express my gratitude through these reviews and recommend his services to anyone and everyone looking for excellent accountants and great people.

I contacted U.E. they told me Carranza Ins. never sent them my payment so technically, I never had insurance. After 2 phone calls, 1 email providing proof of payment and cancellation, and 1 office visit from a very angry lady, Pedro rudely refunded my $389 which he still insisted I wasn't owed. In addition, he wanted to charge me $48 processing fee for the work I did in emailing him my proof of payment and cancellation. If you value your money and your life, do not do business with this company. Pedro strongly acknowledged that he knows Carranza Ins, works with 'F' rated insurance agencies.
