I had my taxes done here last year for 2023 and definitely feel like this place doesn't fully understand what they are doing. I was given false information even when I correct the him when he told me I would have to pay. Went to a more private tax service and they helped me and explained more in detail how my taxes work. It was my husband and I's first time doing taxes as a married couple and I was pretty nervous because who likes doing taxes. The office manager (can't remember his name, some older white guy in glasses) is the rudest person i've meet in a long time who gave me 100% false information and bad tax advice. Long story short , i needed to file married jointly with my wife who is canadian. He told me "If you get married in canada it does not count in the US" which is complete BS and laughable for him to tell me. And then when i insisted that i was in fact ACTUALLY MARRIED he had the nerve to say "Well we could do that , but it would just be too much hassle on our end , just file single" How can a tax agent tell someone to file INCORRECTLY ?? That's essentially trying to get me to commit fraud because it would be too much work. And besides that how dare you tell a customer willing to pay whatever it cost that it would be 'Too much work on our end' I went there FOR THIS REASON and this is YOUR JOB. My actual agent at this branch (Mr.Piedad) was very nice and understanding and referred me to the Mt Diablo office in walnut creek where the agent (Lewis Ruff , great guy) told me that EVERYTHING the office manager said was wrong , and filled me correctly and efficiently. Will not be back to this office , and I would avoid it if I was you. read more

Deborah did my taxes and I had a good experience she was informative and nice. My problem came when I hadn't received my refund, and couldn't get a hold of her for more information. I received no help in contacting the state tax franchise board. It's been 5 months and I've been going back and forth with the tax board, faxing in my w-2s over again, and I really just felt like I paid h&r block $300+ and they failed to follow through and help me get my refund. Debra did our taxes for the past 2 years. Shes very nice and helps explain everything. She also followed up with us afterwards with a question about some paperwork and had a copy ready for me to pick. If you are looking to do your taxes here I highly reccomend Debra. The only problem I encountered was the front staff, a young man.. When I walked in he didnt greet me He just stared at me with a blank stare.. I had to say Hello and ask him if he was able to help me. He looked confused and said no then yes and I told him I was there to pick up some paperwork..
