Karen scheduled it and said he would call me at the appointed time, when he didn't call, I emailed him and he then called and said he "never looked at his calendar". Then he asked for access to my QB and to send my 1099s, SS etc. I did that and also uploaded all my personal, home office expenses in an excel workbook. I asked again for a meeting, he said he would do a preliminary return and then we could talk. When I looked at the return, there were some errors, but mainly because he did not understand my business and previous tax filings. I asked again for a meeting so we could go over things and if I should do something differently, fine. But he asked to do it over the phone. I said, no, I really wanted the chance to meet and talk. I received an immediate email response saying he was "terminating" any business relationship with me. I was shocked, I couldn't believe how unprofessional! I will report him to the BBB. When I started working with them they were timely, reasonably priced, and had amazing staff. They've had so much turnover and their primary accountant is rude, disorganized and non-responsive. Last years tax process was a complete disaster - they lost my information that I had emailed, and didn't start working on my taxes until the week before they were due, even though I had sent them all my information in February. And then, after multiple requests for status on my returns, they ask me for my information again, and tell me I owe alot more than I expected. The owner refused to return my call or emails when I tried to contact him about my concerns. And then they threatened to withhold an October filing for my wife's business until I paid off my small balance. My new provider found several mistakes in my filings and missed tax savings. That was all I needed to hear to confirm that I made the right choice to get away from them.
