I didn't know that my guy at H&R Block Newtown office would not be available at the new time and that the entire office would be closed. Luckily, I received a message from one of their preparers who was reassigned to the Levittown office in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center that he was willing to handle the job. So, I brought down all the necessary documents and backup material to allow him to dig his way through my complicated professional and personal lives. Ernie was a cool dude and hung with me over several calls as I explained what was what. He got the job done on time, explained what needed to be paid, and what didn't, and had me come down just once more to sign off on the returns before filing everything electronically. The price was fair compared to what I used to pay a CPA to do the work, especially when including preparing the returns for a family dependent (only $59 additional). So, now I have two professionals I like who can handle my messy tax situation. Like them both. Always good to have a Plan B, good enough to be Plan A.

Later that week, I received confirmation from the IRS that my SSN had been stolen and someone else had filed a tax return with my SSN. Spinner & Spinner did not offer any help to fix my stolen identity. Spinner & Spinner did not offer to pay for LifeLock or any other monitoring services. Spinner & Spinner never told me if any information was taken (SSN, birth date, bank account numbers, financial numbers, etc.) Spinner & Spinner left me to fix the problem by myself, and my own expense.
