The three words that come to mind in describing Rachael are: intelligence, integrity and invested. Our first interaction was using her as a forensic accountant. The rebuilding of the records and data was flawless. Ms Walke has served as our HOA community's accountant for several years. She has always provided us with factual, timely and straightforward reports. The information made our decisions as a community so much easier. Personally, Rachael has taken on both our personal and business tax accounting. She addressed concerns left from the previous accountant and provided us with valuable insights that greatly assisted our tax planning and financial success. The charges we paid for her and her team's excellent service were reasonable and a good value. In appreciation, Bill

This is against the law. I should have been paid on the next regularly scheduled pay date, as I was hired as an employee. I called him and emailed him. Interesting as well, because he's a CPA. Not sure of his ethics at this point. Can't recommend him as an employer. If he doesn't pay his employees, not sure how trustworthy he would be as your CPA or tax advisor/preparer?

I had previously hired another CPA firm to handle taxes for my small startup. Surprisingly, despite their excellent Yelp reviews, their senior CPA didn't know that an S-Corp election should not be filed electronically when the IRS explicitly requires paper filing in certain cases. Because they mishandled my S-Corp election, my business's S-Corp status remained pending for years until we recently discovered the issue. Worst of all, the firm kept gaslighting me and refused to fix their own mistake. Based on my own calculations, the tax savings from proper S-Corp status could have been six figures, plus potential penalties if the election had ultimately been denied. I then turned to WCG to help resolve the mess. I was already bracing for the worst, paying a six-figure tax bill and possibly suing the previous firm to recover it. My experience with WCG was night-and-day better. The onboarding process was well-organized, and Sally and Amanda developed a thoughtful, reasonable plan to address the problem. I wouldn't have blamed them if it hadn't worked, since the final decision rests with the IRS, but thanks to their expertise in these matters, the plan succeeded! I just wanted to write this to thank them sincerely for everything they did to help me with this case.

I worked with WCG for three years (tax years 2022-2024) after transferring my S-corp filings from a…read moreprevious accounting firm. By April 2025, the experience had become disappointing enough that I decided to move my business elsewhere despite the significant inertia involved in switching firms. No accountant or client relationship is perfect. Tax preparation inevitably involves many details, back-and-forth communication, and occasional hiccups on both sides. When issues arise, the expectation is that systems and expertise help resolve them efficiently. While WCG was consistently personable in written communications, I ultimately found the underlying skills, processes, and systems underwhelming. A few examples illustrate my experience: Tax optimization. WCG's marketing emphasizes a boutique, advisory-driven approach. In reality, the firm operates at a fairly large scale (roughly 80 professionals across multiple locations including Ahmedabad, Laramie, Mitchell, and Colorado Springs). At that scale, details can slip through the cracks. In my case, the home-office deduction, a standard component of my S-corp filings, was omitted in two of the three years I worked with them. To their credit, WCG amended the returns when I identified the error, but the omission required time and effort to detect and correct. I had provided my prior S-corp filings during onboarding, where this deduction was already established. Business consultation package. I also purchased the "Business Consultation / Periodic Business Review (PBR) - Quarterly" service, which was a major reason I chose WCG. In practice, the proactive quarterly strategy sessions described in the package were never initiated by the firm, nor did they appear to be part of a structured operating process. My assigned CPA was available to book for meetings, though email response times could be slow, but the proactive advisory component that was marketed never materialized. Tax payment volatility. In tax year 2023, I overpaid Maine state taxes by more than $9,000, while simultaneously owing over $7,000 federally. In 2025 my combined refund exceeded $10,000. I engage tax support specifically to help smooth estimated payments and avoid this kind of volatility, so these outcomes were surprising for a relatively straightforward single-member LLC structure. Cost versus service. By 2024-2025 I was paying roughly $4,400 annually (including ADP integration) and expected a higher level of personalization and oversight at that price point. Billing and service discontinuation. After requesting that services be terminated on April 9, 2025, and confirming the closure of the relationship, a withdrawal of approximately $11,500 was drafted from my business account nearly 60 days later. The issue ultimately traced back to WCG failing to notify ADP that services had been discontinued, despite two confirmations. Any firm can make a mistake, but in the context of the broader experience it felt like a final illustration of the operational gaps I had encountered. During the engagement I raised some of these issues with WCG's leadership, though I found the responses somewhat procedural and lacking the client-focused judgment one hopes for in a long-term advisory relationship. I found Jason heavy handed and light on EQ. Time and trust are valuable. WCG's frequent automated broadcasts, mass emails, texts, and portal notifications often required time to sort through to determine what actually applied to my business. Over time, I became less confident that the firm's focus was on optimizing my company's tax strategy rather than scaling a technology-driven, semi-automated accounting model. Both onboarding and exiting the firm required considerable time and effort, and I respect well-run small businesses, so I do not share this lightly. My concern is not just the missed tax optimization opportunities, but the significant amount of client time required to identify and correct issues that should have been caught internally. Prospective clients should weigh the convenience of WCG's platform against the level of hands-on oversight and proactive advisory support they expect.
