There will never be a grocery store I like more than HEB. Now granted, I feel each location is different. But in a very good kind of way. You will see your go-tos, but you will see a little switch-up here and there on certain food items. That's probably my favorite thing about HEB! Now today, I was searching for my Christmas holiday cheer! HEB is the best when it comes to the holidays, any holidays, I might add. So today I was searching for the chicutarite boards, fruit plates, and slices of meat trays. I also checked out their wines. It's honestly the best grocery store, and if I get a little confused, there's always someone to help. I saw the poinsettias on my way out and quickly added them to my list of things to pick up a couple of days before Christmas. My mom always put hers by the fireplaces. I will do that too. Well, anyway, you're more than welcome to do like I did today and so many other times. Go by HEB, scan the aisles, and make a list. I get a lot of inspiration from this on what I want my holiday meal to look like weeks before, and then I return and purchase my holiday cheer.

HEB in the Great Hills neighborhood. I was looking for a new drink that I discovered, but I guess not all HEB stores carry it. I didn't see it at this location. Also I was looking at their Texas decor items too. They seem to have less than the HEB near me. Texas mugs, Texas glasses, Texas door mats. They had a little bit, but not a very big selection.

Seeing reviews about this HEB location from ten years ago, tells me they have most likely gone through some major renovations to become the size of the shopping center it is now. This location features a butcher section, a deli shop, fresh bakery, florist, pharmacy, home goods, and just about anything you need under your roof. I've found myself grocery shopping here around lunchtime, after work, or as late as 10pm to take care of my shopping list. Prices and options here are very competitive and the HEB brand helps you get your daily essentials at prices worth driving for. Produce and meats are always fresh, and they feature a lot of organic and gourmet ingredients. It's very rare I can't find an item I need here. All in all, this will always be my go-to HEB!

We have shopped this HEB for as long as it's been there; however, we have noticed a marked decline in the quality of service, products and cleanliness. Recently, we bought some Liverwurst at the deli counter and had to stop the employee and ask her to please clean the machine. She gave it a quick wipe with a rag that was on the counter and proceeded to slice our order. Admittedly, we should have refused the meat and confirmed that when we arrived at home and found our order was contaminated. We returned it and told our story which was met with a response about "new trainees being allowed to serve customers without supervision".

I have a love/hate relationship with this HEB location because I'm always stopping by HEB to grab something I either ran out of or forgot to buy on a previous trip and with this HEB location being very close to where I work it is so convenient to stop at HEB after work and then head home. So convenience is a LOVE for this HEB for sure but I HATE how freakin' small the parking spots are at this location! They are so small and narrow that if a car is parked next to you it is 100% guarantee that your car door will touch the car next to you when you open your car door or even worse you have to squeeze your way to get into your car. This is so frustrating because the chances of getting your car dinged is very high so to avoid this I either take up 2 sparking spots or park next to a return basket corral, if a parking spot is available and even then I'm parking as close as I can get to it. It really shouldn't be that hard to park my car & then get out so I can go grocery shopping. I wonder if whoever created those mini parking spots think all customers drive a clown car because those spots are ridiculous! Another "eh" about this HEB is that it is way smaller then my normal weekend HEB location. However, a "love" for this location is that there is always clearance items! I'm always getting awesome goodies for a super cheap price so I for sure am always checking out the end caps to see what clearance treasures may be waiting for me. :) To sum it up I'll for sure keep stopping by this HEB location for my mini shops after work but my plan it always to "stick and move" because I don't want to be parked in those funky/mini parking spots any longer than I have to be. -Rebecca out

Can't believe that you have to bring your own bag. I am from out of town and didn't have a bag with me before I checked out.

However, the traffic in the area and the parking have gotten increasingly more hectic and chaotic. Because of this, I have been using a location out in the 'burbs. I would give 5 stars but because of the chaos, I have to give 4. The store itself is chaotic inside but can still navigate, employees are that TJ-friendly that we all know and love. They always have what I need. Like I said, just a nightmare at times to get inside.

Well, this is probably the best TJ's in the Austin area due its size and variety of healthy, eco-friendly products, so if you've not yet had the pleasure to visit, here's why you should: 1. Yes, it's in downtown at Seaholm but you get 1 hour of free, validated, protected garage parking right outside the basement doors. When you come in the garage, go forward and loop around to the left side to reach the marked TJ spaces. In 2025, you validate by entering your license plate number in the Metropolis kiosk - it's a breeze. 2. Bring an insulated bag for frozen items. TJ's has an impressive selection of high quality frozen seafood and prepared meals, appetizers, sides, and desserts that you won't find anywhere else at these prices. Lately my favorites are the assorted dumplings and other dim sum fare. Oh, and get ready for some fun on the freezer aisle, where you'll be tempted by all manner of sweet treats stored at eye level above the freezers. 3. Seasonal, limited edition items. Early summer was lemon season with lemon pasta, lemon pesto, lemon body care, lemon candles, and so on. My most recent visit, it was strawberry everything: tiny pies, mochi, dry cereal, etc. At Christmas time, my friends go wild for the kringle pastry selection. There's always something that will only be around for a few days, so you feel like you've struck gold when you get there before it's all gone. 4. Seasonings and sauces. TJ's has some of the best spice blends and prepared sauces that will punch up your home cooked meals. I am obsessed with the crunchy chili onion oil and dry crunchy chili onion sprinkle shaker, living in anxiety that they will be retired. 5. The nicest people! Everyone working seems to have a PhD in customer service. I always leave with a smile on my face after dealing with the friendly checkout counter staff person. There's even more to love - fresh flowers! awesome skincare dupes! great produce & cheese! excellent low cost wines! - but you'll need to come in & experience it for yourself. Bring your reusable bags!

Ok now that is out of the way. Review time: I really love this location so much. The store is huge with wide aisles making it easy to navigate compared to the smaller stores. Even if it's crazy busy on a Sunday afternoon you can still get to the items you need with ease. The store is still very clean and of course modern since the rebuild. Employees are friendly. The shelves are stocked fully 99.999% of the time. I live extremely close to the East 7th Street store (5 min away) and opt for this location time and time again.

I love that they have a parking garage so if it's pouring down with rain, one doesn't get drenched trying to get one's vehicle with a basket load of groceries. On the ground floor, there is True Texas BBQ with ample seating. One can take the elevator or escalater up to the second floor to the supermarket. On the escalater, there is one side for you and the other side for your trolly of groceries. I have abandoned my neighborhood HEB and now patronize this one at 2400 S. Congress Ave.

Contrary to another review, they usually have fresh fruit on hand; bananas in a basket and prepared fruit cups. They have a fair selection of beer, wine, soft drinks and coffees. They have sandwiches and other prepared food (e.g. giant $4 burritos) in the cooler. One time I had to ask for toilet paper and the guy brought it out from the back room. I suppose it took up too much space on the shelf. This is the alternative to Royal Blue, which has even higher prices, although Royal Blue makes some food in-house. On the whole, I prefer Second Street because Royal Blue has a weird vibe and some weird brands and this place is a regular store.

Honestly unremarkable. An independent convenience store that knows it can charge more because of where it is. The staff were friendly enough, but the stock was kind of limited. That might be due to so many people being in town that week but they seemed to run out of drinks fairly quickly. It's also no fault of the store but it's worth mentioning right in front of their doors seems to be a popular hangout for Austin's homeless. I don't think we managed a single visit here without being asked for change. If you need a quick snack they are in a great location, just don't expect an overly pleasant visit.

For a dollar and some change it's a great size! As I noticed other people gathering around the hot food line, I couldn't help but decide on getting a plate. I picked up the ranchero bisteak and chicken Tinga and for my two sides, I decided on the plantains and nopales. Both of the meats I decided on were extremely delicious in flavor and the beef was exceptionally tender. I got red and green salsa and it appears that the red salsa is a tad bit creamy, which is not something I've had many times before. It was unique and extremely tasty. As for the green salsa, I have yet to try, but I am sure it won't disappoint. I do want to give this place praise because I have passed it up before, but it is not a place to be looked over. There's so many other goodies in here that you won't find at a regular grocery store so it's definitely worth coming inside and checking out especially if you just want something to do. The people were so nice exceptional customer service. There is seating if you want to eat inside and they were playing good music. I almost forgot to mention how exceptional the sides were. Often times people mess up nopales, but these were delicious.
