Before moving to Texas had heard about this store being such a great place and I thought it's only a grocery store but yes, what a great experience it is. People are always friendly. Prices are good. My only thing is why is customer service not open the entire time you have customers? In my opinion customer service should be there open to close every day. read more

We have shopped at this store since we moved to the area. The selection is just what we needed, and the HEB brand goods are top notch. I know they are hampered by the regional directives, and appreciate that they are trying to offer a similar experience to the huge store 30 miles away, but I really like my "small town" HEB. When the pandemic hit, and we finally need to stop "shopping our pantry" (Hurricanes and seasonal shortages mean we have a good pantry and rotate things regularly. It really helped in those first few months.) That first shopping trip was much more organized and there were a surprising number of goods and fresh groceries available. Yes, we had to get there early, but that was something we had to do in a lot of places in the early months of 2020. Throughout those stressful, early days, the store manager was right there. He arranged things so that buying didn't get outrageous and everyone who was there had a chance to pick up what supplies had to be rationed. He managed the store amazingly well, considering all the people who were frustrated and annoyed at the changes. I'm just really impressed at how well he was able to manage the shipments, manage the rationing, and make the experience as friendly as possible. I think the entire store needs recognition for not only being able, but to be willing to stand on the front lines and Do The Things. I was surprised that they changed the entrance/exit system back to what it had been pre-pandemic. While I prefer the other way, and it had been hard to adjust to, I appreciate how most people may view it as a way to restore more normalcy. I really think this HEB had set the standard for me. It will be hard to top! read more

This is the sorriest HEB I've ever been to. Store old and nasty. Prices are higher than other H.EB's I've been too. I think I'd rather drive into Houston than shop there. The selection sucks as well. I've lived in Wharton 6 years and have never enjoyed shopping at this store. read more

HEB offers a good variety of groceries for a small town like Wharton, Texas. It is the only actual grocery store in town. Most of the employees are friendly. The store is clean and neat and most items are in stock all of the time. The parking is a little congested but this is because the store is so popular. The pharmacy staff is very professional and helpful. read more

Have always been very happy with HEB in Wharton, Texas. After the rearranging it took a little getting used to but most of us adjusted. Not any more....a lot of the brand products are gone or slowly disappearing and we are being forced to take a brand we don't want or go to another store. The arrangement of items are not nearly as organized as they once were. Items that used to be displayed together are now divided up all over the store. The only redeeming quality HEB has any more is their employees. As always they are friendly are helpful. It's ashamed the store has gone so terribly down hill. Never thought I'd shop at Walmart over HEB. read more

Decent grocery store. Good deals,friendly staff, but they need to consider offering ways for customers to make suggestions about products they would like to see in the store and offer free cookies in the bakery to the children. read more
