The last time I visited was with regards to anti-malarials, which meant I got to speak to the man in the white coat who is usually doing things with pills in the back area of the pharmacy. Not only is he a hidden comedy gem - he was informed, helpful, and provided some of the best service I've had anywhere. He had the relaxed efficiency of someone who knows what they're doing and does it well, with a degree of promptness that made me want to immediately log onto yelp so I could compliment them! This was the third or forth time I'd been into the pharmacy and this is generally the atmosphere of the place; it's certainly better service than I've had from the larger chain stores close by. I hope you aren't unwell but, if you are, do stop by here - it'll make you feel better in more ways than medication!

Inside this shop is bright, with nice wooden floors, and somehow I've always felt this place to be really friendly. I first popped into this pharmacy with my girlfriend to pick up contact lens stuff (whatever IT is). We had no problems getting what we needed with help from the staff. Good service. At its heart though this is still a standard pharmacy, a pharmacy that does its job well.

They've got an interesting range of products available, and though you can get your basic medicine and toiletries, they also stock some fancy cosmetics and perfumes! I'm a big fan of Boots as they have hardly ever failed me, but a friend needed to buy something so we ended up at the much closer Lindsay and Gilmour. The store has quite a few luxury brands, such as La Roche Posay, and I was particularly distracted by their display of Bomb Cosmetics. I'm not entirely sold on the functionality of such products, but they were very pretty to look at!

Besides medication they also sell perfumes, bandages, hair coloring, tooth paste, hair brushes, umbrellas, make up and it always smells nice. Important: Its clean and staff is friendly :-)

Apple Healthcare run a small chain of pharmacies across Scotland, with one other in Edinburgh located in Musselburgh. I went in today, partly to get out of the horrendous rain, but partly to have a look at their shower gel. Pharmacies quite often stock a small range of toiletries, and this one is no exception. Their prices compare very favourably to the supermarkets, and are certainly lower than I found when I was in Sainsbury's the other day. Apart from the toiletries, you'll find everything a pharmacy should offer, with prescription and over-the-counter medicines available. They also offer some consultation services, including a stop smoking service. A small pharmacy that offers a lot to the local community.

I came in to get some lip balm due to suffering from chapped lips, I was able to find what I was looking for, and the staff seemed friendly with fast service at the checkouts, and help to find the product I was looking for. (Impressive as the checkout area was only small, given the size of the store and the fact there are no self-service checkouts) As a small store, the selection is limited but is decently stocked given their size. Due to the size of the store, the facilities are limited compared to what one would expect from Boots, and offers the bare minimum, while also shutting earlier than other nearby locations, at 6 pm. 3* - OK, good location but much better pharmacies nearby from Boots and rival brands.

The people who work there are the nicest pharmacists I've ever met. Back in my universitary photojournalist days I once had to procure a needle for the purposes of an article of drug use in Edinburgh, and though they couldn't specifically give me what I needed, they both informed me of where the Needle Exchange was and weren't at all perturbed by my request. Which is always quite comforting. Only downside here is that, yes, it is quite expensive. For all the girls out there: 1) don't get yourself into this situation, 2) they now give out free morning after pills if you're registered with a local GP. And that's all, folks.

The staff here do know what they are talking about and you just need to go in and tell them what the problem is and they will recommend what will help the most. With this they are more often than not spot on and anything they give you seems to do the trick. Any visit here is also relatively inexpensive as they will always let you make the choice between the large brand or unbranded and cheaper medicines explaining the differences and letting you decide what you want to buy. With a pharmacy this good, unless you are seriously ill, you hardly need a GP.

This is a handy little pharmacy near the centre of town, especially good as its nice to shop somewhere which isn't Boots or Superdrug. When I went in for the first time for my Heyfever medicine the staff were very considerate and friendly. It offers usual extra pharmacy servies like passport photography. It also sells cards and bits and bobs making it feel almost like a mini-post office. Unfortunetly it also has what appears to be a 99p shop attached. This makes the place seem a touch tacky but presumably this in understandable attempt to make some extra money and compete with the big names.

They seem to be providing an important service to Inverkeithing, so I won't quibble that too much, just that if you're disabled, you might have a bit of a struggle to move about the place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which is nice. This chemists seems to carry pretty much everything you'd expect, from perfume to vitamins to foot care to soaps to the actual medicines. Their prices are what you'd expect from a small town chemist (slightly more expensive than Edinburgh). One thing that did concern me a bit was that some of the things on the shelf were dusty and looked like they'd been there for some time. I wouldn't buy anything to wear from here, like a hat, and wear it without washing it first.

The shop has a lovely airy feeling due to the large windows, and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and the opening hours are great to fit in with work hours - the pharmacy is open until 6 some days. I generally get my prescription from here and have never had to wait more than a few minutes.
