Raising the rating on H2O. Have been a few times now and really like it. It's got a nice atmosphere, albeit it is a bit loud which obviously isn't something the restaurant can help. It's just the atmosphere of the place. Staff is nice. Food is really good. Loved the lobster cake and eggs Benedict. Hot honey flatbread was really good too. Have tried the elephant ears a couple times and they were good but a little inconsistent. All in all I love H2O and totally recommend it. read more

Really cute spot on the water with tasty food and great service. We sat inside because it was a little too warm outside, but they also have tables outside overlooking the water that looked delightful. Our party went heavy on the dairy this time, and the garlic cheese bread, cheese curds, and BBQ nachos did not disappoint. My daughter said the bread was "like an elevated Papa John's cheesy bread." (I thought it was a lot better than Papa John's.) My son declared the nachos "Pretty good." We also tried the lobster rolls and the steamed shrimp. Both the shrimp and the lobster salad were nicely seasoned, and the portion sizes were ginormous. I'm not sure what kind of bread the lobster was served on. This was a good dinner spot with tons of things to choose from on the menu. We sat at a high table in the back and it was loud! Lots of large tables celebrating birthdays. It nice to see it's a special occasion, family oriented spot. I wish we would have sat outside and enjoyed the views of the water, even though it was a bit chilly. It was much quieter out there. I ended up choosing the burger with fried onions extra. It was delicious and huge. I paid the up-charge to have the broccoli instead of fries and it was ok. We had a group of four that was spending the night and traveling through to Mackinac Island. We all had different meals but I had the fish and chips but substituted the chips for a baked potato. I was very impressed with the amount of food on my plate plus the waitress was very friendly and knew to keep the cold beer coming. If you are traveling through or a local that has never tried this place I highly recommend it and its also on the water. You can either sit outside or in the dining room. Another absolute stellar evening at H2O! This is my happy place. The food is always so amazing. The prince Edward oysters were absolutely delicious with the cocktail sauce and horseradish! An absolute must have. I could've eaten a dozen of those, but I had to save room for the cheese curds and the southwest chicken eggrolls, which are absolutely amazing! We must always get the garlic cheese bread Although there's never room to finish everything all at once! That just means there's leftovers. I always save the best for less which is the Hawaiian coconut cod. This is the absolute best fish in town, but it must be Eaton with the orange marmalade sauce! I can't thank the kitchen enough for ensuring that they have the orange marmalade every time I come in! The service is great. The atmosphere is fun and always busy. I've only been here one other time but this time for sure tops my previous experience. Me and my friends were seated right away and got our drinks what felt like seconds after ordering them. Our server Ariel went above and beyond even when my order was messed up by accident I was immediately notified and made aware of the fact my food would be at my table later then my friends and it didn't feel like that long after. Finally had the chance to come and check this place out! My wife and I came here for a date on Thursday evening. It was a beautiful night, we sat on the deck and had amazing food. We started with the corn dip. I got the chicken sandwich and my wife got the scallops. the servers were awesome. I typically ask the servers "what is the best thing to eat here?" They have a huge menu so it was hard to decide what to eat. Shout out to the servers for helping point me in the right direction. Of course, I'm sure everything there is fantastic. Apparently, H2O's used to be a Hooter's, so that's a step in the right direction already. That must be the inspiration behind every 'O' in the menu capitalized sO the wOrds lOOked like this. I ordered the lObster bisque. It was fairly creamy, but nothing to write home about. I alsO Ordered the fish sandwich with cOd. A bit pricey for two pieces of fried cod on a bun but I was glad it was flash-fried, meaning there was just enough fry to give it texture and crunch without pulling from the texture of the fish. Unfortunately, service was fairly slow likely due to the lunch rush. It took a while for the servers to take our orders or bring drinks/refills. We had a server in training during the rush, so that may have explained why it took extra time for the trainee and trainer to return to our table. They had live music when we were there that was real nice, not too loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. Our oysters were a little small, but that's typical with the cold water ones. They were very clean and tasty-be sure to ask for horseradish and cocktail sauce because they are served with the wine vinegar sauce! Our service was good, they were busy, could have been better but it was not bad. Overall, we will definitely go back! They had some great seafood offerings, including lobster rolls, seafood pizza (available with a cauliflower crust!), lobster cakes, crab legs, walleye and perch. Came here for my daughter's 21st Birthday dinner, now that she lives in Midland and she found this place. We were here in the summer, July 31 and the weather was perfect that day and we sat outside on the deck, with a view of the river. I highly recommend doing that. We saw 2 freighters pass through, it was very cool. Nice menu, good variety of seafood, appetizers, pizza and entrees. A couple of us at our party split a pizza, is was fantastic! There was this funny guy who must be a regular here, and he came over and sang very loudly Happy Birthday to her. Later the management asked me if he was bothering us, but he wasn't. On our way out of Michigan but had to have another dinner at H2O. Our 4th dinner there in a month. My husband was excited to see Prime Rib was on the menu. We were seated in the first table on the left, against the wall. The sun was setting in my husband's face. He tried to eat with one hand, holding the coaster up in his left hand to block the blinding sun. The waitress finally noticed and moved us to a high top, away from the glare of the sun. His Prime Rib was tough and he was so disappointed. He sent it back to the kitchen and decided he wasn't that hungry. The waitress was very apologetic. The cocktail menu is awesome. All the drinks sounded amazing and it was difficult to pick one! I decided on the coconut cove. It was a coconut mojito. It was delicious. Perfect combo of mint and coconut. I could have ordered three more. For apps we picked the Buffalo shrimp and the southwest egg rolls. Both were good and what you would expect from a bar/grill restaurant. Our server was super nice when we asked to move inside (I didn't dress for sitting outside and needed some a/c). Here was my issue and reason for 3 stars. There was a fly situation inside. It's not the waitstaff's fault- I really know that...but it was a buzzkill. Literally.
