I walked through Duty Free and bought the requisite "Daim" bars, which is a Scandinavian treat that I love! Once I got through security, I milled about and shopped, and then stopped by the lounge, which was quite good for an airport this size. I decided I wanted to check out one of the restaurants I saw in my stroll, and I headed there. My gate was near, so I ate and then headed to my gate. I will be happy to come through here again in the future!

This lounge is tiny, but welcoming and even has a small kiddy corner. When you arrive, you scan yourself in with your boarding pass and are greeted by a friendly face at the reception desk. The breakfast selection was very good. At 5:30 AM. They had oatmeal with defrosted fruit, different variations of bread with multiple options of yogurt, including lactose, free. They had multiple kinds of jelly to put on the yoghurt or toast and even had a very basic charcuterie set up on the other side with a few cheeses some cold cuts, some fermented herring, hard-boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers. They had a large selection for teas and had a very easy coffee machine that gave you multiple delicious options.

In flight, they give you heated rolls, not here. One tray of sliced cheese to put on 6 different bread choices but none appetizing looking. A bowl of fruit, a bowl of chips. It reminds me of a college dorm party. The bathrooms are also decently clean but very beat up looking and the magazine selection is non existent. I was quite surprised because I expected more since the Gothenberg lounge and breakfast offering was quite good. I think the art should be styled or updated, it also has the look of a dorm room.

This is also where Pedagogen is located - one of the institutes of Gothenburg University. There is a café inside but it is not any cheaper as you could think being a students' café. Best selection is around Magasinsgatan or along Västra Hamngatan, but don't forget to take any of the side streets. That being said, this is not a very pleasant area for recreation or just strolling as it is traffic and just streets. But since there are no benches for seating it doesn't gather winos or vagrants which often is the case at parks or larger junctions. Just the stairs from Pedagogen full of students. So next time, jump off the tram here and take a walk to find a new favourite shop or restaurant!

I recommend this because the taxi drivers can try to rip tourists off by charging far too much, like one did to me. The place is not just made special by someone who gives great customer service and gives great customer service, but he actually wants to behave completely correctly in the admirable Swedish way. The place is perfectly done, that would even English adapter plug sockets for UK guests and a free beer which was not the usual upsell. Also even though I had not booked breakfast he still have me a free coffee in the morning. It Is by lake which is lovely as well. Just need to make sure you bring your own towel, but that is it.
