Habit always hits different every once in a while. I haven't made it a habit to come consistently but it's always good when I do. This time, I decided to try their Patty Melt, which might be a limited time edition item. I am a big fan of their charburgers, so I wanted to try the newer item. That patty melt was good! Very simple and delicious! The way the grilled onions, patty, cheese, and thousand island sauce worked on the sandwich, I was pretty impressed (for fast food). Their fries also HIT different, and usually I would pair it with their Oreo shake, but I wasn't feeling it then. I ordered via their mobile app, and I was lucky to find a coupon for 30% off the order due to the Holiday season! The Habit app was super easy to use, and their time estimate range for the order was spot-on. I would definitely use it to save time and just walk up to the counter to pick up the food. Its very easy to customize the burger as they give you a variety of options to select from. Their is a self serve counter to get some ketchup, and pickled chillies which you must get to add more flavor to the burger. Their salads are also really good, we have tried their garden salad and its delicious! They have a nice outdoor seating, which is clean and well kept. The salad was filled to the rim with fresh lettuce not sliced too thin, ample shredded parmesan, crunchy croutons, and crisp bacon on top, and a large side of caesar dressing. It was tasty and satisfying. As were the green beans. Light batter, crispy and flavorful, lived up to the standards of what I expect from the Habit restaurant chain. Best to order and have your meal at the location to get the complete experience of fresh burger or chicken sandwich along with perfectly crisp fries and/or tempura string beans. The outside dining is nice as they have covered awning to protect customers from the sun and heat. Even when I've ordered for pickup to take home, the quality has still been good. Set up an account on their app or website and they periodically send offers your way. I tend to go to The Habit because it's easy to order ahead online through their app (unlike In N Out, where you can only walk up to order or go through the drive thru). After many orders over recent years, the accuracy of online orders have been hit or miss. If you make any modifications (adding or subtracting anything), don't be surprised to find they have ignored your requests. It really sucks when you pay extra for something, such as extra bacon, and find out they forgot to add it into your burger. I've always done take out here so I don't find out about these things until after I've returned home. It's never worth the trouble to make the trip back to have the mistakes corrected. Food was 10/10 and service was 10/10! I came to this place after a workout and was left very satisfied! I had a chicken caesar salad and my partner had the Portobello burger. I always get the salad here because they never skimp out on the ingredients! It's very much worth the price. Although the chicken is a bit dry, the dressing makes up for it. I also like how they have a side topping self service on the side. Prices have gone up over the years, but it's still pretty reasonable for a good quality burger. Limited parking in the plaza. May be difficult to snag a spot during busier times, but I was able to find one just fine when I came on a weekend. I was happy to find that the prices here were reasonable. "You want cheese? You want avocado? You want cheese? You want cheese?" No man, I don't want cheese :/ If you're going to be so pushy about it, then also be pushy transparent about how much extra each additional item is gonna cost me. Otherwise, it gets much too annoying being repeatedly asked if I want to add cheese to everything.. The restaurant had a brief power outage while I was there. Thankfully (?) it was after I'd ordered, so they were already in the middle of making my food. I heard someone tell the cashier to stop taking orders since their system went down...but then after a few minutes, the power came back. It was a bit of a wait before I got my food. It seemed like the staff were busy mass producing X number of certain items before moving on to other types of orders - so that it'd be quicker for servers to grab and stuff the ready-to-go food into bags. I guess it would've been faster getting my food had I ordered 10 char burgers. (Context: I'd ordered a variety of burgers, so it took longer). My burgers were all right. I do like how it's different than my staple In&Out burger. Mostly that it contains more veggies (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles) than the thinner In&Out burgers. I've passed by this Habit Burger so many times without realizing it was even here! Came by to redeem my free birthday burger (yay free food) since this was nearby while I was in the area. There is outdoor dining available in a tarp covered area at the front of the restaurant. There looked to be plenty of tables and chairs spaced apart. The interior tables and chairs were all stacked up along the perimeters inside. There are also markers inside to indicate socially distanced waiting spots to get to the register to order. When I arrived before 1pm on a weekend, there was no one else inside so I got to order rather quickly. When I got to the counter, I mentioned that I wanted to redeem my free burger. The guy taking my order acknowledged it a few times. I added a few other burgers to my order as well and reconfirmed with him that one of the burgers was supposed to free due to my coupon. He confirmed again before pointing to the card reader for me to pay. Good thing I did a double take at the total owed cuz that seemed higher than expected. He'd forgotten to take off my birthday discount despite the multiple confirmations. Heh... Besides that hiccup, the rest of my time there was ok. The wait for my food took about 10 minutes or so. A lot more people came into order while I was waiting. Char Burger || $4.15 For some reason the pricing for this seemed to be lower than other Habit Burger Grills that I've been too. It does come with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and condiments which is nice. Good basic burger. Teriyaki Char || $4.55 Basically the char Burger but with a pineapple slice and teriyaki sauce. If you order this, definitely ask them to put it in a plastic box cuz it leaks! They only wrapped it in the wax paper and put it in a paper bag with the rest of my burgers... And it leaked everywhere! Veggie Burger || $6.35 This was a decent veggie burger which tasted like a Mediterranean styled burger with cucumbers and olives in the patty. We wanted enough food for lunch and dinner so we went with a double Santa Barbara Burger, a single Santa Barbara, and a crispy Chicken sandwich. We knew from experience that the double was plenty for two meals and the burger still tastes good later on. Maybe I'm a creature of habit (pun sort of intended) but I like my regular Habit Burger location better. This one is much smaller with little room to wait for pickup. If it's busy, you wouldn't be able to be physically distant. More importantly, there were fewer caramelized onions than I'm used to. Don't mess with my onions. I loved the avocado, but this was a bit too greasy with the grilled sourdough. -Onion Rings: The batter was still too thick and a little overfried. A casual burger place with good menu options. I was more curious with the sides, so I ordered 3 when we went here on a Wednesday night. I tried the tempura green beans and the Brussel sprouts. Both of them would have been a hit had they not been too salty. I love the Mocha shake though, thus the 4 stars. I was able to try the sweet potato fries and it's also good, I like that they are thin and crispy. My friend tried the Super Salad and she enjoyed it, too. If I could give 10 stars to this place I would. First off, the food. It's incredible! This far I indulge their burgers. Yes, it takes a tad longer than McD or others to get your order, yet, as they say, "Fresh is worth the wait." That's not just a cleaver slogan (just one of several), it's flat out truth! Everything is made to order and you can taste the difference. Next, the crew. Always pleasant to deal with and efficient. Then there's the place itself. For one, their restrooms are cleaner than many of the dining areas of other places, so of course, the dining area (tables, seats, floor, etc.) is kept after and kept clean as well.
