I went in today to have a watch battery replaced and some repairs done on a ring. First I was told…read morethat the repair man wasn't in and I would have to wait until... maybe the end of the day or tomorrow or the day after (it was already 3:15pm). So then I asked about the repairs to the ring. I was referred to someone else, who told me that it would take at least 15 business days, but if I was willing to pay extra, I could have it in 3 days. Since this was really quite a simple repair, I was somewhat put out. I said that I was surprised it should take so long, and that I had never before walked into a jewelers that couldn't replace a watch battery on the spot. The girl told me that was because the fellow who would usually do this was upstairs right now doing all those 3-day repairs (the same fellow, I presume, that was supposedly not there at all.) While I was speaking to her, another customer came in asking for a pocket watch that he had brought in for repairs over a month and a half earlier. He said no one had called and he wanted to know what was going on with his watch. I decided that I would take my business elsewhere.

Provided in-person estimation walk-through, but failed to get everything on their 40ft trailer. Left a garage full of belongings for us to deal with. We then had to make 1 utility trailer run and rent our own 14ft truck to move the remaining, adding another 10% cost and major stress and aggravation, essentially defeating the purpose of hiring movers. No apologies offered. After failing to move about 15% of our household, the final billing came in 25% over-estimation, no calculation detail provided as requested. Out-of-town charges came in 53% over-estimation, without explanations, as requested. Clearly not equipped to move bigger 4 bedroom households. Regretfully,not recommending.

He does what he says he will do, he shows up when he says he will and charges a fair price and he's friendly. His work, especially difficult and tricky projects (that other upholsterers refuse to do) is exceptional. Recently, Joe rearranged his schedule to fit in my emergency appointment. I had an oversized couch that needed to be removed from my apartment by disassembling it, and another upholsterer had flaked out on me and left me unable to empty my apartment on my move out date. Joe was able to come within 24 hours, do the work, help me move the couch to where it needed to go and only charged me half of what the flakey upholsterer wanted to charge. Onsite, Joe is friendly and personable and his wife, Carrie, (who you'll speak to if you call the office) is also a pleasure to deal with. You couldn't possibly go wrong working with them. I would unquestioningly recommend Craftmaster to absolutely anyone looking for a high-quality, reputable upholsterer.
