Azzaro is one part guido club (see above), suited for Macbook DJs, booty dancing and your finest tube-top-turned-mini-dress. But there's also a spacious garden outside of the bar itself, with plenty of tables and chairs if you prefer something more tranquil. (Be warned: Even this peaceful garden can get pretty crazy, depending on the time of night/morning that you arrive.) After elbowing our way to the bar, we secured two generous pours of Coca-Cola con Cuarenta y Tres. After making a narrow escape with minimal spillage, we headed to the patio area, pulled up two chairs and were able to have meaningful conversations, watch the sun come up, get a second round, and smoke a cigarette. Granted, A Ramallosa is not a huge metropolis or anything, but it seems like everyone at this bar knows each other. It took us about 20 minutes to leave because we kept running into people we know. Because getting to Vigo can be a huge hassle at times, it is good to know there are other worthy bars nearby.

Cafeteria Brothers is located at this square. This is a good spot to catch some sun and just sit in the shade and watch Galician life going on. Brothers has the standard things a bar offers: drinks and some little snacks (like crisps). One of the assets bis the snacks you get with your drinks: with only one sparkling water I got nuts, crisps and a bocata (a small bread with a topping). With coffee you get sweet things like pastel. Some days there is a little podium for musicians. There is no tapas menu, so just come here for the drinks! What I like about this square is that you will barely find any strangers (like yourself) and you will be surrounded by locals who go here at night to meet their friends and family. For me a holiday does not get any better, just enjoying these simplicity of normal life: a nice drink, kids laughing, birds chirping, sun on your skin.

Located in the historic center of Vigo, it is right off a quieter narrow street. The dark wood and stone interior has a wall of wines on one side and other comestibles such as tinned fish, cheeses, and other gourmet items. A bit on the pricier side, they pour local wines with Galician food. With my bad Spanish I was still able to understand the owner and learn about the regional wines and cheeses. I had to try a local Albariño that she recommended, so good. Loved the complimentary pintxos that came with the wine!

The ambiance reflects the bars blues roots. There is outdoor seating in a small terrace. Food is decent. It is a little slow on busy nights but that's to be expected. We stopped in on the way back to the ship. They are really close to the port, so there were other people sitting at their outdoor tables. The place is pretty much a hole in the wall catering to tourists. But at least the prices aren't crazy high. We had a pitcher of sangria which arrived with a crap load of ice. I mean, it was pretty much a pitcher of ice with a bit of sangria. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't a proper sangria. We also ordered croquetas and patatas. The croquetas were ok, we just could not figure out what kind of croquetas they were. The patatas were good and fresh cut, not frozen. Service was blah. But for being geared towards tourists, our total was about 18€. Don't go in expecting fantastic Spanish food though.
