Hair 2000 is a pretty high class salon. The prices are high, but so is the quality. It's quaintly located in a tiny strip mall on Kensington Road, which means most of its customers are pretty trendy, high fashion people. And so are the stylists. Hair 2000 is a great salon to go to if you want a modern, funky hair cut. The stylists really know their fashions and are willing to give you whatever hair cut you want. They also do waxing, facials, hand and foot care and many other services. The prices for the wax are pretty high, but that's because they use high quality wax and cloth. The beauticians are all highly certified and trained professionals, so you shouldn't feel weird if you're getting your bikini or face waxed. Trust me, they've seen it all! I like that when you enter Hair 2000 someone immediately greets you and offers you a beverage; coffee, tea or water. I've never been a fan of drinking while getting my hair cut though. It seems like I'd end up drinking a bunch of my own hair. No thanks. If you've got the cash and want the style, Hair 2000 is a great salon to go to. If you don't want to spend all that much on your hair or body, I'd probably suggest something a little less fancy and a little cheaper. read more

I impulsively popped out not Hair 2000 to buy product not available in Shoppers next door, asked if. Could get a facial because I've been meaning to for ages and Haley, here I was in a salon. Looming was able to do it there and then and it was fabulous! She was meticulous and very quiet so I could relax and enjoy the experience. Will make this a quarterly event. Great service. read more

I love this place. A guy can feel comfortable having a haircut here. The long-serving staff contribute to a really friendly atmosphere. The location in Kensington can have busy parking, but I am never skunked - there is parking in the lot, across the street, or on the street immediately north (Gladstone Rd). It's hard to believe, but I've been going to Hair 2000 for 25 yrs. Jennifer, the owner was 17 yrs, just starting out, and now she's owns it! I have natural curly hair. Not everyone understands or knows how to cut natural curly hair. I've had some seriously bad hair cuts prior to going to Hair 2000. For years, Jennifer colored my hair, and Heather cut my hair. Heather left a few years ago to raise her children at home. Jennifer now colors & cuts my hair. She does an excellent job everytime! I'm not sure they are that much more than other salons, but if you want cheap...try Zellers, and take your chances with who you get. The hairstylists at Hair 2000 have all been there for 15 - 25+ yrs. They must be good, because they have a clientelle that would follow them around if they ever had to change their location again. read more

My hair cut story is actually quite humorous. I went out for breakfast at Nellies next door with a good friend of mine on a Saturday morning. Near the end of our delicious meal, she told me that I honestly was in need of a haircut. Appreciating her advice, we decided to walk into Hair2000 next door. Where their was an opening for a cut at that exact time! Alexandra did a fantastic job. She was friendly and professional. I had not had a hair cut in over 6 months and she made me feel like a new woman. I have been to her twice and have full intentions of being a long term client of hers. Well...Made an impulsive appointment last winter with 'Jae'. Nice enough, but she pushed product my way though and the products that she used on my hair did not improve the look, feel of my hair, so the cut did not look very good! The blow out wasn't good either. My hair was not smooth and looked dry. I had to go home and recondition and style again. The cut was a basic 'take an inch off' and she didn't touch my side bangs...which needed a little blending. read more

just went in for a brazilian. they use the wax with cloth strips which hurts way more than the hard wax that gets peeled off as you also exfoliate the skin. the lady wasn't rude but not overly friendly and had a harsh manner to her. she didn't talk unless she had to. i used a living social coupon and got the impression she was sick of having to do brazilians for cheap. she also missed a few hairs. i have definitely had a better brazilian experience before and won't be going back for a brazilian there in the near future read more
