This chick knows her stuff and the results prove it. In fact I so rarely find a beautician I actually like that after Carly moved to Femme Fatales from her previous work place, myself (and other clients) followed her like loyal puppies. I went to this hair dressers after reading a review on another website and was not disappointed at all. The price was very reasonable for the processes that I wanted doing and I will defiantly return to the salon for further hair and possible beauty treatments. It definitely feels like a treat experience when you visit as the staff are lovely, you get pampered (e.g. a head massage as the conditioner is on your hair etc) and you can choose from a range of drinks - e.g. filter coffee, cappucino, range of teas, still or sparkling water or wine :-) - whilst you have your hair cut. So like any good little Yelper I searched for hairdressers in my locality of Leeds (I'm not crazy enough to try closer Bradford). Jam Hair's 4 star and above reviews and £21 for a haircut sold it to me, but now I see that they were written in 09 and I'm thinking that I should have been paying a bit more attention. Bad little Yelper. When I called for an appointment the only hairdressers available were £27 and £29 respectively... well still O.K I thought, so I went ahead and booked. Unfortunately when I arrived I was greeted with about as much enthusiasm as if I had just walked in and tried to sell double glazing. With an interior ecchoing a cross between Crystal Maze's 'Future' zone and a scene from Dallas, I was beginning to wonder what I'd let myself in for. The customer service did pick up as my hairdresser, Simon, was lovely and chatty and not too overbearing, but his technique was unfortunately not as good as his chit chat. I have quite a mane of hair and asked for layering and a swept side fringe, all of which he gave me, yet there was still that certain something missing. It just looks rather, well... f... l... a... t... Which is a shame and perhaps acceptable at £21, but you really hope for more for £29 cut. In more professional salons, they've also attempted more elaborate blowdrying for a similar price, but here it was similar to what I can manage by washing it with Fairy Liquid on a camping trip and letting dry in the Northerly winds. If I'd have asked for a Kate Bush maybe I'd have liked it. But I didn't. They seemed to stock most Kérastase products, but unfortunatley none were recommended to me so I left empty handed. Perhaps Jam Hair would be fine if you do manage to book a £21 hairdresser and just need a trim, but on the whole, this salon didn't leave the greatest of impressions.

The salon uses the latest equipment from Kerestace products, to GHD curlers and straighteners. A dodgy hair cut from here is just not possible. You pay for quality at the salon with a cut costing £16-£30 depending on the style. I personally feel hair is a very important part of an image and therefore is worth spending a bit of cash on!! I try not to be superficial, but what I just adore about Jam Hair is the decor, furnishings and lighting. Some say it's pretentious but I love it. Over the years I have had various treatments from a cut and blow dry to hair dying. The cutting of all stylist has been of a high standard ( just to let you know I'm very fussy). I work in a customer facing role so my hair is very important to me. I hate to admit this but, I let my friends mobile hairdresser highlight my hair for my sister's wedding. I was one of the bridesmaids. As you can guess it went horribly wrong. I have dark brown hair and she had put in huge stripes of blond hair in my hair! This happened two days before the wedding. As you can tell I was mortified. I called Cameron Matthew to book in asap to sort out this complete mess. They were very helpful and understanding of my situation and booked me in the following day. Sarah helped save my hair looking like a complete disaster for the wedding, and having in subtle highlights. Sarah saved me from being a socal outcast on the family wedding photographs. Thank you!

They decided that they would not dry my hair at all, so I did not realise the full extent of their disgraceful work until later on. They did not respond to my efforts to get a refund or to correct it, despite my clearly stating in writing the full situation. I'm now having to seek the help of another salon at further expense to myself, but fully intend to seek a small claims case against them. Avoid this salon at all costs. Plus, it's a bit grotty inside. I should have left immediately, but you live and learn!

I was surprised that it was solely filled with male hairdressers (although looking at their website it appears that there are women that work here), but Russel did wonders with my hair (he's single, ladies) and gave me a very funky hair cut that looked awesome on the slopes! The only problem around here is parking. the streets are always rammed!
