They made me feel well at ease and spent the next almost 2 hours colouring and cutting my hair. The hairdresser explained what she was doing and asked me questions to make sure everything was to my liking. The final result was excellent and I was very happy I took the chance and went to them. It was all reasonably priced too! I would probably still go to Bauhaus, but I now live on the opposite side of Bristol and have found somewhere closer to my home. Recommended if you live in or near the area.

The place itself is spotless and has a really chilled vibe. There are brilliant student discounts and even commission for recommending Illusions to friends. Typical student discounts and commision prices are half-price hair cuts - brilliant! My hair cut usually costs about £20 for re-shaping which i think is very reasonable. I really like Aveda's weirdly earthy, woody fragrances - and their products are more natural than most used in salons, with up to 95% natural ingredients, according to my stylist. Even the colour is up to 99% naturally derived, so it's less damaging to your hair. The staff seem to be proud to work here, and the salon itself is a relaxing environment in which to spend an hour or so. Some of their stylists specialise in hair for weddings, balls or big nights out - and many have worked as stylists on TV and film productions. They also offer little extras such as free fringe trims between cuts, which is great for regulars. Good city centre salon using more natural products than most - and they even offer a 10% student discount with a valid NUS card.
