I normally don't get any color services or do anything more than a trim. I came in yesterday for a full head highlight ( black and red box dye previously). Samantha my usual stylist for my trims took excellent care of me as always! After letting it dry at home I noticed that I really just wanted the highlights to be a lot more and thicker, more noticeable. I walked in no appointment and Ashley immediately accommodated me at the same time she made her appointments happen as well. I don't do well returning to places about services I wasn't 100% happy with to get it fixed. She made me feel so comfortable and even helped entertain my four year old. I'm very particular with my hair and I walked out after about 6 hours overly satisfied and amazed by her work. I know box dye and the extremely long length of my hair would be a challenge but she made it happen. She also made sure to give me realistic answers about achieving a certain color and how many sessions it would take + went over after care. You could tell Ashley truly enjoys doing hair no matter the circumstances or time it takes. She deserves all the recognition. I'm not sure how it was for other peoples experience, but for my experience with the salon it was great. I was hesitant at first going into a Hair Cuttery salon just because I didn't have a good experience on previous locations. But this salon was amazing, I went there unsure of what I really wanted but Myly was able to help me get the haircut that was best for my hair type, hair condition, and face shape. I was so surprised that she didn't make me feel rushed and actually took the time to find a cut that suits my appearance. Not only she washed my hair very well, she was gentle with the brushing and gave me tips on how to style my hair better to my liking. Whenever I would have a question for her she would kindly give me tips and even show me how to do it myself. I've only had a salon experience with her, but I will be coming back again. read more

I gave the one star to the girl who did my hair. She seems to be really trying to do her best and she was sweet but I just didn't have a great experience. I made an appointment the night before because I needed to get my hair blow dried in a pinch and on the website it said it was $25. Upon arrival, I sat to get my hair washed and mid shampoo, she let me know that they used their own brand of CBD shampoo, which I thought was a little odd and wasn't asked permission but I brushed it off. I sat in the chair where she proceeded to take an and hour and 15 minutes to blowdry my hair (on cold??)-- I could literally fully style my hair in less time than that. She chalked it up to me having too much hair, which isn't true because I had cancer so I lost a lot from that. I asked her to make it a little wavey while she was during this time and she said she could. When we were done, I felt sticky and oily at the same time. I got to the counter to just pay my $25 and get out of there to wash my hair after this experience, and she quoted $45??? I asked about the price change because they website quoted $25 and she claimed it was because I wanted waves (no curler was used) and my hair was longer. Also, what waves??? My hair looked better when I came in with 5 days worth of dry shampoo. I tried to ask her about why the blowdry was much more than quoted and she said "yeah, Hair Cuttery is weird about their prices." Just no. I paid a total $60 to go home and wash the excessive product out of my hair. I'm so angry. read more

l have very thick hair. Beautiful thick hair. Because of this, I have been rejected by many stylists who "aren't comfortable" or "don't think I would be satisfied with the result." I always ask for long layers and the use of shears "to get the weight out." Many who have experience as a stylist but not with thick hair like mine only use shears at the bottom, which doesn't work for me. Thich hair has to be cut differently. Because I've ended up with the later many times, I always call in advance and ask questions. One day, frustrated after being rejected by 4 stylists in one day and desperately needing a haircut, I googled all nearby salons and asking if they knew what to do. When I called Hair Cuttery and asked y questions, a woman confidently yelled YES GIRL! Just to be sure, I drove to the salon and showed them my hair. A woman named Dillus seemed very confident. She took me as a walk in and started working on my hair. I was anxious because of awful experiences that have left me in tears but she came through in the clutch. You could tell by the way she would life and hold my hair she knew what she was doing. She even made a note in my account what type of cut I need. Well worth the time and money. 5 STARS! *Update: 3 Months later, I need another cut, so I call for my girl Dillus. She's not available. I ask my usual questions and the person on the phone books me an appointment with someone who'll know what to do. I go. The woman who greets me compliments my hair. Turns out she's cutting it. I tell her exactly what I need done. She gives me a whole song and dance about products they sell. She never actually lifts my hair. She touches small parts never really moving it around. She never actually lifted a handful of my hair. She also keeps answering the phone distracted. I made an appointment and was treated like I was squeezed in. I only see her cutting the ends with shears, like with regular or thin hair, I tell her how Dillus or my old stylist I loved did it. Another song and dance how she did exactly what I asked. Apparently, after quickly touching tiny portions of my hair oh so delicately, she's already done. She keeps giving me BS. She never worked underneath the very top layer of hair on my head. Didn't even make sure both sides were even. She only put a layer on the very thinnest top layer of my hair. I ask her to work on it more and I keep spelling out what I want her to do. She claimed my hair, which she called beautiful less than an hour ago, was "frizzy and damaged" not thick. I can't see the layers which should be very visible if freshly cut, cleaned up, and wet. It's very clear it's still very thick and I am getting anxious. Again I ask questions and point out how my hair still looks very thick and not cleaned up. The salons phone rings and annoyed, she chucks in on the counter in front of me. She keeps BSing me that the other woman "most of used a lot of product. I explain that it's still cleaned up days and washes later when its cut properly. She replies "fine I'll make it look clean" and wipes product all over my head, smearing my face as well. She defends herself telling me she's cut hair for 10 years. I keep trying to bring my point across and she rushes me out of the chair stating she has stuff to do saying "because I'm done here" as she rudely pulls the smock off me. I go to pay and she enters everything on the computer while muttering about me to her colleague in front of me. After talking shit about me in front of me to her friend, she came up next to me pushing product on me while the tip part came up. I always tip but I regret tipping her. This experience was not what I asked for, I was rushed out when she knew I was asking for more to be done, and she was downright rude and unprofessional. She never even told me her name. She has bright pink and purple hair. Now I need to live with this until I get another cut that I'll have to pay for again. I'm so upset I don't want to go back there to see if Dillus will fix it due to this experience. I drove home angry in tears. 0 STARS! read more

While she was starting me she was finishing up a young woman with the best Platinum Bong color I have ever seen, the gal was ecstatic over her color and eagerly showed me a before photo.....night and day! Good haircut - but pushy with "Product" I was pleased with my haircut and blowdry - but I swear every time I go to a Hair Cuttery I am told that my hair is "dry" and needs a special product. I booked an appointment online with Mallorie 3 weeks ago. The day of the appointment (today) I called a few hours ahead to confirm and I was told they had no idea of my appointment and that Mallorie was no longer working there. There's a lack of communication at this location and I'm glad I called before showing up to my "scheduled" appointment. I would of wasted more of my time and gas. They should of called her clients and let them know she's no longer there and asked if maybe the client wants to book with someone else. I'm just saying. I wasted weeks waiting for my appointment. This Hair Cuttery is on the south side of Okeechobee, in the shopping plaza. The outside is modest to be sure, but the inside was clean and comfortable. I waited to be seen approximately ten minutes without an appointment, even though one of the salon girls was merely walking around, seemingly doing nothing. When one of the girls did finally get around to cutting my hair she did so deftly, but as if she was afraid she was going to injure my head in some way, barely making contact, making me fear she would not cut it evenly. She barely talked to me, but to ask my opinion on the cut, which was average. She didn't seem to know what to do with hair so short, which would seem obvious to me: ensure it doesn't look poorly. If you're looking for a masculine male barber who knows how real men like their hair, look elsewhere. This Cuttery is not a place for men. read more

I came here with my 5-year old nephew so he could get a haircut. My sister likes to bring him here because the stylist point-cuts his hair and in the past she had trouble finding a stylist who would do that for a kid's haircut. While he was in the chair with one stylist I decided I wanted to get my hair cut too. Nichole cut my hair and did a great job. She made sure she understood what I wanted and my hair came out super soft and looks great. She seems to know a lot about the products. Not my best experience. I was a walk in. There were 3 people ahead of me on the wait list. One of the stylists was nice enough to take my name and put me on the wait list. There were 8 stylists working when I arrived who, apparently knew their clients as they walked in the door. After seeing the waiting room totally empty and a new person walk in behind me, one of the stylists notice that I had been waiting about 1.5 hours and there were stylists that were not busy. Kudos to her. Apparently, the wait list is not adhered to as far as I can tell. The stylist that finally cut my hair apologized for the wait and was very efficient and professional but I was late and asked her to be as quick as possible as my wife had been waiting the entire time. THe prices are reasonable, the people are nice but, if you really want to go to this business, make an appointment, know somebody on the staff or expect to wait a very long time. read more

This is a great place to get a man's haircut. My stylists name is Cindy. She has been the best stylist I have found since moving to Florida. A man's haircut is 25 dollars half of the price you might pay elsewhere for the same quality cut. This place is a no frills place, in a strip mall setting. The service has been fast and friendly. I can not think of anything to complain about here. For my experience I give 5 stars. Some might give less because they are looking for a spa type setting and I get that, but beyond that factor this is 5 star. read more

I was fairly happy, except that at the register she charged me more than she previously quoted me and I had color all over my face, ears and neck. Today I went in to have my roots colored - no cut - no dry and was charged $60 when I expected to pay $50, having short hair and all. I typically go to the Hair Cuttery for my haircuts and have never had an issue. I went in yesterday at about 6:30pm and waited for about 30 minutes. I asked for a shampoo, cut, and blowdry which is $25. Now I do have long and thick hair but anytime I've gotten the same service it's been $25, which is great for me because it allows me to tip 100% for the hassle of my hair. This time I was charged a $20 long hair fee. The haircut was fine but I do wish I had been made aware of the fee. read more
