I went to Vivian for a haircut because I liked the way she cut my friends hair. However my haircut was and still is uneven. The angles on the side of my hair was obvious so I went back the next day, but the layers aren't even either. One side is shorter than the other. Also I wanted my hair to be cut just below my shoulder. Well it's right above my shoulder. I'm so disappointed and frusterated. Especially when I've already gone back to have her fix some of it. And she tried to tell me it was even until I had to take strands of my hair and show her. Her response was "you have a good eye". You'd have to be blind not to see it.​​​​​​ read more

Woman named Judi Stampone cut my hair. She was shaking like a leaf in a storm. Worst cut I ever got. Scared the socks off me...those sharp scissors flying around my head at warp speed. She was behind and I paid the price. Probably Parkinson's disease or D. Never go there again. Am filing a complaint with the Board of Cosmetology and Health Dept. This is dangerous, not to mention 27 dollars to look like a homeless person. read more

I followed Joanne from a chain shop to here. I always leave feeling beautiful. Love the friendly atmosphere. The shop is very clean. I enjoy seeing the smiling faces of the other clients as they look at their finished hairdo. During covid I decided to go natural and see how much gray hair I had underneath the dye I had been using for years. When I was finally able to come back, Joanne kept my cut different each time. It looked like I was trying a new style, not like I was just growing out the gray. She then convinced me to keep it natural. Love it. read more

Love Ericka - moved here from Boston not knowing anything about where to go and luckily stopped by Hair Magic (next to Perrines where I go all the time) She give an awesome short haircut which I what I always get, is super pleasant, animal lover. Recently I called as my brother died recently and my sister-in-law has been so depressed after having been in the hospital herself. I honestly thought her hair was not salvageable and would need to be completely cut off. No way. She loved Ericka who spent tons of time taking out tangles, coloring her hair and then giving her an amazing haircut - really made a difference in her life - took all afternoon so I'm super appreciative. The salon itself is clean and COVID appropriate - everyone is super nice when you check in and it's not wicked expensive - especially for me coming from Boston. Really love this place. read more

I first started seeing Vivian for a haircut when she worked at a chain salon across town. Now she works at her own salon, Hair Magic. Keep in mind that I am writing from the male perspective, but I have been a customer of high end salons since 2001 (Bumble and Bumble in New York, Michelle's Salon and Day Spa in the Berkshires, G20 Spa & Salon in Boston, just to name a few), and I would say that aside from the unnecessary frills (aka views of the Manhattan skyline, iced coffee, etc.) this place is just as good if not better than the best salon or barber I have ever been to. The only stylist who comes close is Shelly of Dellaria salon in Brookline, Massachusetts. I know that for some people, especially women I imagine, putting your trust in a new stylist can be scary, but from what I have observed as a customer, everyone comes away thrilled with their new haircut, coloring, extensions, etc. Me on the other hand; I just get the haircut, but her artistry and attention to detail is perfect for me. I consulted with salon specialist Chris Shep about highlights to color some problem gray areas. She gave excellent advice and she performed high lighting throughout my hair. It turned out excellent. She was very professional and gave me lots of great tips along the way on conditioning and styling. Following she gave me an excellent plan for continuing with highlights to cover the gray. I'm very pleased and made a return appointment to see her again. I would highly recommend her as she was very professional. read more

I followed Linda over to Hair Magic. I really enjoy the quality of her work, her professionalism, and her friendliness. She has a very tactful way of encouraging you toward what would be good for you -- or away from what you won't be pleased with later. I would recommend Linda to anyone looking for a great stylist. The salon is clean and nicely decorated, but not intimidating. The prices aren't the cheapest I have ever paid, but still reasonable...especially for what you get. fastest in out 'service' price was twice the price that was stated and job was such that I did not leave a tip which is very very unlike me since I worked for tips for 35 years. Thank God the difference between a good job and a poor job is about two weeks..., I will NEVER return! read more
