The hairdresses is in the upstairs of peterlee town centre. This hairdresses has just had a makeover and it is all new. They do a full range of treatments and are fantastic at doing wedding and special occasion make up and hair aswell as nails. There is plenty of magazines to keep you busy while you are getting your hair done as well as always been offered a cup of tea. Would recommend to all but make sure you book in plenty of time because can be really busy at times.

The assistants were very chatty and helpful but we a little too scissor-happy. I asked for a tiny little bit off the length of my hair and came out with a far shorter cut. Being young and naive, I didn't say anything but I probably should have. My friend was also with me on that occassion (she recommended them) and is always very happy with the haircut she receives from them, so I guess it's a case of different strokes for different folks! The salon is always very clean and tidy so that aspect of the place cannot be faulted. The prices are reasonable too when you consider what some of the chain hairdressers charge.

The staff there are not only welcoming but also incredibly skilled as evidenced by the stunning results. Lisa, the nail technician worked her magic and my nails turned out absolutely stunning! However, as the salon has recently had a refit, their prices have gone up even though they were quite expensive in the first place but now with the price increase you get a nice cup of coffee from their new coffee machine! Unfortunately it is rather a small sized shop with only two aisles and one main till, which means it does tend to get quite crowded and busy. It also has a lot of competition from Boots, which is almost opposite the store and from general stores like Wilkinsons, which is nearby. The shop has a small entrance which can be difficult to negotiate with a wheelchair or pushchair, especially at busy times. Inside you can only really walk in one direction, which is in an anti-clockwise direction down one long, thin aisle and around the other side of it. The shop sells cosmetics, body care materials for men and women, some magazines, a few sweets and other things like phone vouchers and stamps. Price wise, the store offers better value than Boots but perhaps less choice. There is usually two members of staff at the till which is close to the entrance. They are friendly and helpful and serve quickly and without fuss, which is essential in a store as small and as busy as this one. A great store but one of many I'd choose in this particular section of the mall at Cramlington.

As well as the Superdrug own brand items available they stock well known brands of beauty and personal grooming products. It's a long, narrow shop and navigating it with a buggy can be a bit of a struggle if the shop is crowded. The quality of their own range is good and the choice wide - they even sell things like stamps and mobile phone top-upsI sometimes shop at another Superdrug store, near my work ,and the staff there are generally unfriendly but in this store the staff are pleasant. They stock a good amount of miniature cosmetics/toiletries, ideal for taking away on holiday - very handy.
