The tone of the communication made me feel as though I was being judged rather than treated like a serious prospective client. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated experience. I had a similar interaction on two separate occasions, which made me question whether this is simply the way potential clients are treated by the practice. I have also personally heard from others who described their consultations with the surgeon as intimidating and said they felt judged during the process. A consultation should be an opportunity for a patient to feel comfortable, respected, and informed--not intimidated or made to feel unwelcome.
