Anyway the point of this anecdote is that it left Ying Chan at Bamboo with little to work with, having grown out my hair for so long, she couldn't infer what it ought to look like short based on the way it had grown out - she had no idea what my last hair cut looked like. She worked off a grainy photo on my blackberry but then proceeded to produce a lovely short hair cut that looks good without product, a significant feat. That on top of the 20% discount (25 pounds all in with a nice tip) and I'm leaving very satisfied. I will be back a few more times before the school year is up.

Zhara is a brilliant colourist, even though I have highlights regularly, my hair looks natural not peroxided. She never over loads the ends, so my hair never looks dried out. Zhara is also a brilliant stylist, I have had a variety of hair cuts in the last decade all done by Zhara and all looking brilliant. She has the knack of cutting my hair so when it grows out a bit, it doesn't look a mess, it looks like a new style. She will also not let you leave with a haircut that makes you look stupid. You are carrying her work around and she wants you to look good. She understands fully what I want and this is why me and my sister travel up to Cambridge to get Zhara to do our hair. I live in a town with loads of hairdressers and none of them are a patch on Z! She is reasonably priced, her salon is comfortable. She uses L'Oreal professional products. She will not ask a question and ignore you, Zhara has a brain in her head and will recognise if you want her to be quiet or will talk intelligently with you. Give her a try, she is awesome.

Well, when I first went here I didn't realise that it was going to cost so much! I went in thinking I had seen £24 for long hair cut and wash but actually that was only for a wash and dry, a hair cut with that adds £20! I was pretty sour after spending that much! They did a good job and were very friendly, offering me refreshments but man oh man was I in shock for a day or so. I won't go back because it is overpriced but it was good for what it was.
