If I could give more than a 5-Star rating, this restaurant deserves it! I attended a wedding reception with nearly 300 guests. The service was EXCELLENT, the decor was beautiful, there were lots of flowers and lavender lighting throughout the venue. With such an elaborate menu and a large group to feed, there was no delay in keeping the flow of dishes in and pick-up of finished dishes. This was a 8-course dinner, served family style. Large platters of food were brought to our table of 8 guests, which was better than a buffet with hundreds of people waiting in line. Course #1 - Khmer Cold Plate with cured meats, shrimp, and pickled veggies. Good combination of protein and veggies. Course #2 - Grilled Beef with Prahok dipping sauce. Good smokey and rich flavor. Course #3 - Crispy Quail - with Khmer seasoning. Very crunchy and different way to eat Quail. Course #4 - Fish soup in a savory broth. I think this should have been Course #2 before the beef entree. Course #5 - Whole fish with pineapple garnish on a bed of noodles. My personal favorite. Course #6 - Lobster claws with Chow Mein, Veggies and Garlic sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed this one! Course #7 - Pork Fried Rice with diced veggies. Rice was definitely a welcome addition to the meal. Course #8 - Taro dessert with Coconut Milk topping. Not overly sweet, a nice way to round out and end the fabulous meal. I am still in awe of the wonderful time we all had. There was a stage and dance floor on the north side of the dining room. Entertainment by a DJ who played a variety of traditional music and popular tunes as well. They do have a small parking lot with valet service. I came here for a graduation and birthday party. The restaurant is nice and beautifully decorated. The tables were set with tablecloths and linens, and they also allow you to bring your own decorations. The event started at 6 pm, and we expected the seven course dinner to begin around 7 pm, but they didn't start serving until almost 8 pm. By then, everyone was getting hungry. The servers also didn't check on any of the tables throughout the dinner. They simply brought out each course and left. They even started cleaning up about 30 minutes before the event ended. That would've been fine if the tables had been empty, but they actually asked us to get out of our seats so they could remove the table and chair linens. As for the food, some dishes were good while others were just average: Traditional cold plate: 4/5 - I liked the century eggs, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing. Beef steak with anchovy sauce: 3/5 - The beef was well seasoned and nicely charred, but it didn't come with the anchovy sauce that was listed on the menu. House special lobster with egg noodles: 4/5 - The lobster was good, and the noodles were flavorful, but they could've been cooked a little longer since they were a bit too al dente for my taste. Crab meat soup: 3/5 - The soup was thick and flavorful, but it barely had any crab. I'm not sure what else was in it, but it had white square pieces that reminded me of chicharrones with a seafood flavor. House special fried rice: 4/5 - It was flavorful and had plenty of Chinese sausage, but I wish it had more shrimp. Sweet and sour fish and shrimp soup: 3/5 - There was an ingredient I wasn't a fan of. I think they added mint, which gave the soup an unusual flavor. It just wasn't for me. Taro dessert: 4/5 - This was pretty good and was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, I don't see myself coming back to dine here. Been going here for many, many years since I was a kid. The food is overall "ok to good" level. Sometimes it hits the spot, sometimes it tastes a little too oily. The live entertainment (singers on stage, band playing, etc.) can be a pro and a con at the same time. It's nice to see and experience, but it also makes it hard to hear sometimes. I can't count the amount of times (over the years) where I couldn't hear my server or even my own family I was sitting with. Service is fair. Staff is usually friendly. Sometimes it can be hard to get their attention, even if the restaurant isn't super busy. Also, parking in the main lot is tight and almost never available.. If you want some good authentic Cambodian food make a visit here. Met up with some friends for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Wasn't as packed then I expected. Servers prompt to greet us as we walked into the restaurant. Got seated quickly while hot tea is being served. Lots of options on the menu with big portions at decent prices. Our coworkers took us here for lunch recently. I've always drove past this place but never tried it until recently and I have to say I didn't miss out much. This place is average.. I've had much better food elsewhere in the area. Service was great though and some of the dishes were decent but overall I don't think they have that good of quality seafood here, I can taste the difference.. Standard Cambodian food but what makes it stand out is being a banquet restaurant with live singing and a dance floor. Favorite thing we ordered were the beef sticks - sweet and savory with a nice smokiness. Salaw machu kreung (sour lemongrass soup) tastes just like how my dad makes it. Lobster was a good price compared to other restaurants ($25/lb as of March 2025, lobster was about 5lbs). I would not get prahok ktiss again - flavor was lacking and doesn't really have a lot of prahok flavor. Parking lot in the front and back. Also a lot of street parking (not on Anaheim St but on the side streets). They do wedding banquets here so I would call ahead especially on Fridays and Saturdays to make sure the restaurant isn't closed for a private event. Overall, I would recommend people to come here to experience a bit of Cambodian culture. We parked outside and when we first went in it was empty, which was a bit eerie, but a few more parties arrived as time passed. Service was fine. The restaurant is large and resembles a banquet hall, and was complete with live fish tanks. The menus were a bit dilapidated but they had a large variety of dishes. For our party of 7, we ordered the "A" Family Dinner set and added fried intestines, stir-fried ong choy, and beef chow fun. Portions were generous and prices actually very fair; we spent ~$150 for our group so just a little over $20/person. Plates and presentation were simple, but the food was tasty. We also got a pretty big container of steamed white rice. The flavors were definitely very Southeast Asian. I particularly enjoyed how crispy the fried intestines were without being oily. The best servers and the owner/manager is extremely nice and wholesome. A little pricier than normal since this is a bigger sized restaurant and you can find same portion and type of food at a smaller establishment for a lower cost. I always order a chow fun from here and I love it because it has the gravy and the beef and seafood ones are very consistent. Hak Heang is a staple for Khmer families to host weddings, but they are open all day for casual dining as well. I was craving fried large intestines, which they don't have at many places in Long Beach. Hak Heang makes great fried intestines. It is crispy and decadent, and is well complemented by pickled cabbage and fish sauce dip. I also got their stir fried chicken and ginger. It's good! The most flavor came from the sauce and pickles - I prefer a bit more salt. The meal was still enjoyable. My friend ordered the seafood noodle soup and shrimp with veggies in Khmer so I didn't catch the English name. The shrimp dish had a brown sauce reminded that tasted similar to oyster sauce. The lunch crowd filled several tables on the left side of the restaurant closest to the kitchen. I enjoyed listening to families talk about their food and enjoying their meals while watching the news and Cambodian television. The service is different- someone will take your order and ensure your food is served, but will not hover around while you eat. This approach is appreciated. This is a more authentic Cambodian food experience so prices are a little lower and you can observe by the clientele that it's popular with the target demographic. Usually food comes very quickly; they won't wait until the entire table's order is ready but rather food will come as it's done. Noodle dishes will come very fast, and rice dishes may take a little longer. You can order set meals, around $13 a dish which is a rice/noodle with meat and veggie, or you can eat family style with large shareable entrees at about $20 a plate or more. Place is usually busy weekends for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is available weekday evenings but most people don't come for dinner weekends since the place could have parties or weddings. The flavor was spot on, but the quality of the meat was so so and some of the pieces a bit chewy. A surprise to me though was the beef bone soup. AMAZING! Tastes just like mom used to make, so it brought back some really good memories. As i mentioned before, my friend knows the owner so i didn't get to see a menu with prices, but for 3 of us was about $60-70 for 6 dishes. Come give this place a try when you're in the area. A meal AND a show. I'm here on a Saturday morning and upon entering what I thought was karaoke were live singers dressed to the nines. The singers were dressed in sparkling cocktails dresses, tuxedos, and singing in Cambodian, AT 10 A.M. IN THE MORNING. It was a spectacular sight and I was mesmerized. The inside of the restaurant is huge, like a wedding Asian banquet hall but the menu offers what you would find at a typical Cambodian noodle restaurant (similar to a pho restaurant for the ones that are unfamiliar). There are fancier dishes such as lobster and deep fried fish. The restaurant is a bit run down and the menu is crusty and yellowed. The service was extremely slow. Not enough waiters for a restaurant this size. The food is pretty good though and the prices are reasonable in this age of inflation. Bang for buck for the meal and show I'd give it four stars. Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce (Recommend) Steamed Broccoli leaves on the bottom and soft yet crunchy stems on the top and not too overwhelmed with the oyster sauce.
