Delicious no-frills ramen shop
I walked up to this whole in the wall ramen shop a bit leery but the restaurant had a good crowd and so I went for it. Unwilling to rely on the quality of the broth I ordered my soup with spice - the Karaka-men (spicy pork noodle soup) with extra pork.
All in all it was quite tasty. The pork had been allowed to dry out, but the noodles were good and the broth had just enough heat to make it interesting. Was it Tonkotsu ramen from Hakata Ippudo...no. Was it completely worth the trip into 'downtown' Surfers Paradise to satisfy a ramen craving...yes.
It's a pay at the counter and take a number card kind of place so no service to speak of. The decor was fine. There are a few inside tables, a counter with stools, and some more tables outside in the shade. read more
