I attended Halesowen Leisure Centre throughout my entire primary school education and along with my friends, we loved the place.
Whether that w as because we were going swimming rather than having any lessons, I'll let you decide. Regardless of this, the leisure centre has seemed to lose its appeal as I've grown older.
Not so much with the swimming aspect, regrettably, but the gym that lives on the second floor. Now an avid gym goer, Halesowen Leisure Centre Gym was one of the first gyms I ever attended and how times have changed.
Upon signing up the staff were extremely helpful, I could not fault them at all, but the actual equipment left a lot to be desired. A peculiar key system which tracked your progress was installed, which immediately became annoying and unnecessary.
In their defence, the gym seems to be mainly orientated around fitness, having only a select few weight machines and no bench press or squat rack.
My stay at the gym lasted a good few months, but paying over £20 a month as a student I cut my losses and left. read more
