It's in the same complex as Trader Joe's and CVS, so parking can be a pain whenever TJ is busy. We order the same thing every time. I got the iced milk pudding boba, the large size. It isn't overly sweet, and I love the pudding. The interior is a bit dark with the wood paneling, but the claw machines create a more playful and colorful atmosphere. Ordered what I originally loved ordering especially at the Alhambra/Monterey Park location which was an ice milk drink with coffee jelly instead of pudding . I said to not include boba and they still did. I didn't bother going back to have them remake, they might charge for it. Anyway, drink was horrible! Half & half is my easy answer for if anyone wants to get boba in Pasadena. They have free parking, seating, and such a wide menu. They don't allow outside food & drink but they do have a considerable amount of savory bites to compensate. The seating is casual, they don't do tables or outlets for people to take up and study so the environment stays social. There's a little bit of outdoor seating as well. The menu is so wide and the signage throughout the store is very clear about their most popular flavors, pricing, and how to ask for modifications. Their service is fast too. Some days it hits, other days I question my choices. Every time I've been here is been empty makes me really sad. This is a staple location in SGV. Their supersize version is only $7 bucks when many places are half the size for the same price. I love just about everything I get there but this time I got the milk tea. The drink tastes just all right. The service is slow and they forget things. You literally have to wait a while before realizing they forgot to place your entire order. Then it takes quite a while to receive your order. If you follow up, they'll tell you that's it's coming but they won't apologize for possibly messing up the order and redoing it. I hate to come in with a bad review for one of my absolute favorite boba chains, but the service was so rude that I couldn't see past it. I've been a loyal H&H stan since 2013 and have gone to this particular location for about 7/11 of those years. The tea is consistently great and the sweet, chewy boba is always of quality. The service is usually also pretty friendly, too, which made this experience that much more unsettling. I came in to a mostly empty store on a Sunday afternoon with my best friend and her fiance who were visiting. We were all excited since it had been roughly a decade since their last H&H trip, but when our number was called that excitement disappeared. Typically, once an order is called out the person who prepared it will repeat the specifics to the customers to make sure everything is correct. We got our drinks, but were left wondering which was whose and if the order was even ours since the server left before we could even ask. My friend and her fiance had their drinks customized correctly while mine was missing boba and ice (I got 75% ice, but was given 0%), which wasn't a big deal and very easily fixable. We patiently waited for the server to return and when we told her what was missing, her first response was that it was because we didn't order any boba (completely disregarding the ice and that my order was different than the other two which actually asked for no ice). We clarified that my friends didn't, but that I did, but she just repeated that it wasn't in the order. After more back and forth, she finally acknowledged that my drink needed ice and offered (which is actually just her job tbh) to make it correctly. She asked if I wanted boba, to which I obviously said yes, but THEN she hit us with the "if you want boba, that'll be $0.63 and you'll need to go to the cashier and add that to your order." At this point, we were too stunned to speak. And it wasn't just her lack of customer service, but the PETTY way she really said "$0.63" with her whole chest like it warranted an entirely new order. The whole interaction was extremely passive aggressive for absolutely no reason. I asked to see the receipt bc my friends and I were all saying I did, in fact, order boba and the way she shoved the receipt into my face was SO filled with attitude. I could've told her off more, but I didn't want to make a scene, especially since my friend treated us. Lowkey wish I did though bc when I finally got my correct order I was (once again) asked if I wanted to add the boba for "$0.63" and when I said "no, I don't want to be charged $0.63 for boba" the pettiness came back in FULL FORCE as she said "Well, you can speak to my manager." I truly, TRULY did not want write this about one of my fav places, but I also won't tolerate this rudeness and disrespect. Yes, food industry workers deserve patience and kindness, but customers deserve just as much. I love H&H, but that level of ENTITLEMENT was something else. However, there was no regulations on how many people could be in there at once. At least everyone was wearing their mask and being respectful of one another. The drinks were done within 5-7 minutes. The honey lemon green tea with aloe definitely had a ton of lemon in it, but you could barely taste the honey. You can tell the lemon is freshly squeezed though because of the tartness of it. It was pretty refreshing. The mango green tea was a little sad. It wasn't sweet at all, which I didn't mind that much. So the drinks are typically fine, but the service we received today was a bit problematic. We ordered two drinks and my wife asked for hers to be less sweet. The cashier said it would impact the taste, which my wife said was fine (she really doesn't like her drink sweet). I said I'm good with keeping it regular. We got our drinks, already got into the car and were on the road. Her drink was too sweet, my drink tasted watered down. I think they mixed them up, which was annoying because for a place that has signs everywhere about extra charges and already fairly pricey drinks (plus charging extra for credit card transactions), they would at least get that instruction right. But nope, so we had to just deal with it, my wife not drinking hers until she could get some water to put in and me just accepting mine was watered down. The overall texture was thick and hearty. The taro was in chunks and grass jelly taste were thick and fresh. The boba was chewy. This is a hot and decaffeinated option and comes with a spoon. PRICE: The price was reasonable for the big size cups. SERVICE: Friendly staff and quick service. PARKING: There were lots of parking in the plaza shared with big stores like Trader Joe's and CVS. A side note to make is they charge for bags and don't have drink trays (I got 2 of the same drink, so it would have been helpful since my cupholders in my car were full.
