We finally managed to get a table for a late lunch and had an amazing meal. You order/pay at the counter inside, and someone will bring out your food when it's ready. I had a huge bowl of fish stew, which came with plenty of seafood and little gnocchi, as well as a delicious slice of bread. We also tried a lamb dish that was essentially cured meat, served with potatoes and a cream sauce. Both were simple, but sososo good and reasonably priced! As there is plenty of outdoor seating, this is a great place to enjoy a beer and watch the crowds go by.

Munken as its also called is an old venue divided into several small rooms with the atmosphere of the old Visby. They have inside, outside and terrace seating so there are plenty of tables. But of course, if you want the best you better be there early or make a reservation. Crowd is a great mixture of everything and that adds to the special feeling inside. If you want to pass dinner and join the party later, you will have to come before 10pm to skip entrance. Note that line can get pretty outrageous during the popular weeks so dont be to late. Apparently it seems to be harder to navigate between rooms as the night goes on and make sure to watch your head where ceiling is low. Although you can always use it as an excuse for headache the day after.

We came on a midday Sunday for lunch and walked right in for party of four. They do not have english menus but happy to explain and translate. They have a pretty standard Scandinavian menu, service was very fast and relatively inexpensive for the portion size. We ordered the fried fish and the pasta special, but the best was definitely the homemade pesto sauce they serve with the bread... order that! The pasta was a huge portion and a bit oily but it was still tasty with fresh cheese on top. If you're looking for a nice place most would enjoy this is a good option!

Food is great, but the plates arent gigantic, so dont expect to be stuffed when leaving. I had their "Steak N fries" which was perfectly cooked and had a lot of flavor. They have a lot of seats in different levels outside so you can most probably find a spot if you want to. It can get pretty crowded in the bar outside later at night, so it might be a good option to go for a bottle wine. They also have a DJ at night that throws out a chill vibe throughout the venue.
