I took my five year old in for her first haircut before the start of the school year; when I called to schedule I was very clear that this would be a simple trim for a five year old so I did NOT need a top tier stylist, and was quoted $20-30. My child's hair is shoulder length, was not washed or dried or even styled by the stylist, it was sprayed with a spray bottle and a maximum of five snips were made, and she was done. It looked no different than when we arrived. It ended up being $50. I called and was told I didn't specify the stylist level so received services from a top tier stylist. I chalked it up to a possible miscommunication. My 15 year old then made an appointment for a color, cut and style, we were VERY careful and detailed, not only because of our prior experience/lesson, but because she was saving her own money for this. I told them this when we scheduled our appointment, and was explicitly quoted a total of $90 for various services by a newer stylist. She went in for a color consult, and all seemed on track. She was then charged $197 for services at the end - over TWICE what she was quoted and saved for. I called, again, and spoke to the stylist who explained she never talked about pricing with my daughter and essentially that regardless of what we were quoted on the phone, she charges for services rendered. She offered for me to speak with the manager, but repeated that she must be paid for services rendered. I was too frustrated to continue so said no thanks and reiterated how disheartening this was for my daughter. After giving myself some time, I called back and requested to speak to the manager, they took my name and number and said they would be in the next day and would call back then. I have not received any reach out. As someone who came from a low income family, considers trips to the salon a luxury or treat, and whom is very conscientious of what I spend, in addition to us being very clear we needed a true close estimate for my teenage daughter to save for, this is frustrating, disheartening, and seems to make going to a good quality salon inaccessible for everyone. When people ask for pricing, they should be aware for some, that is crucial. Not everyone has the funds to spend TWICE AS MUCH as they planned for. And the cold, dismissive, and seemingly careless tone when confronted with that by the salon and stylists is just another let down. EVERYONE deserves to enjoy a day at the salon, even people who have to scrimp and save, and ask VERY SPECIFICALLY what it will cost so they CAN AFFORD a special treat and to FEEL SPECIAL. We've gone to Signatures many times over the years. I don't know what has changed, but this is enough to not return when we literally can't do anything to ensure we have the funds and know what we will be charged.

The owner was walking around chatting it up with everyone. My base application for my nail was good, the color I picked out looks like what I got. I wish I'd picked a little darker. I asked for almond shape like the picture and I did end up having to fix it a little bit afterwards. The pic I have here is right after I left the salon. The nail tech was struggling with the design though. I think it had more to do with the consistency of the gel polish than her skills because the heart came out great. She tried multiple gold glitter polishes and communicated to me about what was wrong and what I wanted. Looking back, I probably should've just done white like the heart. The end result was the line is too thick and some of the edges are smeared. In the pic you can kind of tell on the thumb there. I think that's just the unfortunate result of too much product under a uv lamp. It'll just move and melt in places you don't want it to be. It's been two weeks now and my nails are all still intact. She stated that the only difference was dip is less chemicals. So I said ok. I never asked about pricing because it wasn't the issue. I go in and get my pedicure done too. They did all the services at my pedicure station. I thought that was odd but I did not say anything. They did a great job. The only thing I could have pointed out was the big toe on my left foot was done crooked. But I was too excited to say anything as I was getting married the next day. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I was the opposite of q bridezilla. Two days later. I moved a chair at work and the nail crumbled off. The dip part crumbled off. The nail was still intact. Not broken. Not dented. I went back and they fixed it. No charge. I offered but the owner declined. Then, the next day. I lifted my blanket off the floor to store away like I usually do. I did not tug on it. I did not yank on it. Simply lifted it. It is not a heavy blanket. My husband was with me when he saw and started laughing. He said no way?! I looked at him and started laughing too. I told him, see! He said wow! It shouldn't be breaking that easily. We were both shocked. He has seen my nails in California and this has never happened before. Ever. I called my cousin who owns a nail salon/ beauty bar, back home in California (mind you, tytys priced pretty high for the low level of services they offer, almost identical to California but you get more in California at least the area where I lived. I never mentioned how high they are because quality makes the difference) anywho my cousin stated that the dip crumbles off when there aren't enough layers or the quality of the product is low. She said to go in again get it fixed and if it broke again. Never to go back. I went in, and Ty Ty said "wow you're so rough with your nails". I was taken back because if she would have relived those moments. She would see it was not me. But the quality of her work. As a manager myself. I never blame the customers. Not to their faces at least. I am not perfect and I understand that there might be errors on my end. Perhaps, had they not rushed my appointment that was made weeks ahead of time. They wouldn't have rushed and provided such a low quality of work. Anyhow. I didn't fight. I didn't say anything back. I paid this time for the repair. $5 and a $5 tip. She was quiet the entire time. Her level of service dropped. She wasn't talkative anymore. I said I never had dip before. If another one breaks. I'm just going to have to do a full set with acrylic. She didn't say anything. If they would have been honest from the beginning. That they are fragile vs the acrylic. I wouldn't have gotten dip. I went home after the repair and the nail broke on my pillow while I was asleep. How do I know it was on the pillow? Because when I woke up. It was on the pillow. The dip and extension were on my pillow while my natural nail was intact. No breakage no damage. Perfectly fine like it never had anything on it. I was done at this point. I am NEVER going back. This is pure insanity. A different nail every time. Had it not been for her comment and her lack of customer service. I wouldn't be writing this review. But it did not sit well with me. If you look at my history. Most of the reviews I wrote are positive. I hate saying anything negative. But I do believe people should be made aware since the owner is not properly informing people. I moved out of state and when I moved back 6 years later it took me 2 1/2 years to find her, she had left Cost Cutters and went out on her own. Staci does an excellant job on your hair. But Staci has changed. The accountability is not there. She now owns her own shop. I had an appointment with her a couple of weeks ago to cut and thin my hair. I was there before my 11:00 appt and waited and waited and no Staci. I left her a message and Jess who was doing a perm texted her. NOTHING!! Finally, I asked Jess if she would cut my hair. I was going out of town the next day and wanted it to look nice. Jess texted Staci again and nothing. I have taken Staci food cause she is always hungry. I have cleaned and swept up hair waiting for her to take care of my hair. I tip her well. For her to blow me off, is unacceptable. I called her the next day and left her a message what the Hell happened to you. Nothing. I was told I am not the first she has done this to and probably won't be the last. I had a perm the first of August, she did not write down who the perm was for. She scheduled a gentleman that overlapped my perm, she had to go ask him to come back. She could have called me and said I screwed up, this is what happened but to just blow me off, especially when you have something you want to look nice for. Just beward, Staci could do this to you.
