I'm giving this place a 1-star rating, and if there were an option for zero, I would have chosen that. I initially ordered food to take home, but after seeing the terrible traffic on the 91 Freeway, we decided to eat inside the restaurant instead. I informed the cashier of our change in plans, and she acknowledged it. Once we were seated, we asked for utensils and plates for two. After three different staff members came out, the third one finally told us that they couldn't provide any utensils, plates, or napkins for us to eat our food. This policy is absolutely ridiculous--especially considering we had already purchased the food from them! I should not have to beg for something so basic! And just to add, the place was empty. The barbecue beans are nothing but bushes baked beans that they don't even doctor up‍. The greens are even worse than the Mac cause they're water down with again absolutely no seasoning. Glory greens has more seasoning than their greens. The cornbread is Nasty as well and not sweet AT ALL but very very dry and flavorless. Solid spot to get some BBQ! My girl and I went here for lunch on a random Tuesday. The ambiance looks like typical BBQ pit stop with decoration of meat and cuts. The service is awesome; Our server always checked us consistently.. granted we're the only customers during that time, but we appreciate that gesture. My girl and I shared to one of their combo meals of 3 meats and 2 sides. We chose baby back ribs, tri-tip and pulled pork. Every meats are delicious especially their pulled pork. The sauce what makes it superb and flavorful. The tri-tip is a little rubbery, but still tasty nonetheless. Their machcheese is the bomb and their beans combines with it have its kick. We were nextdoor at the Holland International (Dutch) Market and saw Hambone's BBQ. Since my wife is from Tennessee and enjoys great BBQ, we had to stop there for dinner. I should have known when they let us sample their wonderful Sweet Tea that we were in for something good coming to our table. We couldn't believe how large our side of fried okra was! The BBQ sauce on our plate of smoke beef ribs was yummy. I usually ask for extra butter when served cornbread, but I didn't need it this time since the cornbread already was flavorful with built-in butter and honey. My wife enjoyed her tasty greens and I relished my side of black eyed peas. We didn't have room for dessert today, but when we come back again we'll order a little less food so we could try their cobbler or banana pudding. During our interaction, she was rude and even raised her voice at me, which I found very unprofessional and disrespectful. understand that everyone can have a bad day, and perhaps she was having a difficult moment. Hambone's is a gift from the BBQ Gods. I love the smoke flavor, tender meats, delicious sauces, and savory sides. Some restaurants lack on the side options, but Hambone's isn't one of them. SOLID BBQ restaurant in downtown Bellflower. This is my second day in a row, so.... yeah! I had the pulled pork and a side of garlic mashed potatoes day 1, and mac & cheese day 2. Pulled pork is phenomenal. And quite frankly, that Tangy sauce is some of the best I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were outstanding, but the mac & cheese disappointed as it was dry, not creamy. I've given these people chance after chance I'm just leaving the restaurant from trying to pick up a order. I placed yesterday afternoon. I stood in a long line for 45 minutes. They did not have my food. They cannot find my order. They were very rude. very dismissive very unprofessional as I stood there trying to be patient they had to go and do my order all over again. The manager refused to give me an extra sauce for my inconvenience this is the third time they messed up my order. There were also a time when I came up here to get potato salad and baked beans they forgot to put in my order for the Fourth of July and my potato salad tasted like someone had used dish liquid in it. That history makes this experience especially disappointing. On my recent visit, I picked up two Soul Bowls and drove back to Gardena. Upon opening the containers, I was shocked and frustrated to find a shockingly small portion of Tri-Tip. It was so minimal I couldn't even taste it. I order a platter 100% of the time because I know I can trust the food to be amazing and enough to feed my whole family. My go-to is the three or four meat platter--baby back ribs, chicken, and brisket. The meat is always tender, flavorful, and perfect with their mild sauce (plus I always ask for extra sauce because it's just that good). The sides are absolutely bomb. My personal lineup is mac & cheese, yams, greens, and an extra large order of barbecue beans. Every bite is seasoned just right and feels like true comfort food. First time here! I ordered 2 brisket and 1 chicken taco on a tuesday and the price of each was $2 so it was a great deal!! I gotta say their mild and tangy BBQ sauce was one of the best i've had personally. Would definitely be back here! I gotta be honest tho service was not the best in regards to the super long wait, not answering the phone to allow ordering ahead, i'm pretty patient when it comes to waiting but our wait was a bit overboard! But I gotta give some grace because there was only one cashier up in the front doing it all! Today was my first time trying Ham Bones barbecue in Bellflower, and I honestly expected it to taste like every other barbecue spot I've been to before. I walked in thinking it would be familiar, maybe even predictable, but it turned out to be nothing like that at all. This establishment completely exceeded my expectations from the very first bite. The baby back ribs were incredibly tender, practically falling off the bone with rich, savory flavor, and the tri-tip beef rib was just as impressive--juicy and cooked to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was moist and creamy throughout, and the garlic mashed potatoes were super garlicky but absolutely delicious with great flavor, and on top of that the dragon fruit lemonade is fire!!!! On top of that, I came to find out the establishment is Black-owned, which is rare to see when it comes to barbecue spots in the city of Bellflower. This place has really lost its quality since he changed locations. I'm not sure if they changed owners or what but the catfish fillet platter looked like catfish nuggets. On top of that it was such a small amount of food for the price. After calling the order in it still took an additional 20 minutes. The customer service was poor and the other customers were complaining about wait times. My first time, referred by a friend and my sister. I ordered the Rib Tips Dinner (Tangy Sauce) that was good. The meat was tender and good. The sides baked beans were good and very tasty. The collard greens were horrible - no flavor, no seasoning and tough texture. The greens appeared to have a peppery taste and as if it was soaked in water only. For this to be a Black-Owned restaurant, the sides especially the collard greens should be top-notched. I'm sorry but the greens were poorly cooked. I ordered a 3 meat plate with 2 sides, I selected a leg quarter (cornish hen size ) with a touch of bird flu (anorexic), sliced brisket (where's the beef?) and tri tip and again ( where's the beef?) The malnourished chicken did fall off of the bone, the thought of sliced brisket was tender as well as the tri-tip, my meal that I ordered via delivery at 12:30pm they were already scrapping to fulfill my order or they are naturally "reserved" with their portions.
