Ace is a great company unfortunately Jeramie at this Hamilton Hardware does not appreciate customers. He refused to take back and item that didn't work. He said it's used and I don't have a receipt. I am part of ace rewards and all transactions are held in the system, which he refused to took up. When I pleaded my case he threatened to call the cops on me. I did not cuss or raise my voice. I had purchased over $300 from Ace in the past month and he thought returning a $25 item was unreasonable. It us unimaginable that Jeramie is in charge of customer service. I recently stopped at the 5230 Highway 6 N. Houston, Tx location. I had so much anxiety going in because I had an idea of what I needed but didn't know exactly what it was called. I have had bad experiences with hardware stores as a woman lol. As soon as I walked into your store Jeremy greeted me with a huge smile and a friendly "Hello, how can I help you?" While I fished the screw / bolt thing from my pocket, another smiling face came to greet me (Valerie). I explained to them that I didn't know what the size or what it was called , but i did know that i needed 28 of them. Jeremy gave me a friendly smile and Valerie smiled and put her hand out & immediately said " Right this way." She was quick to help, kept the conversation light and was so friendly. Definitely gave me small town vibes and reminded me of home. I come from a small town where there are more cows than people. This was refreshing for Houston. My trip was quick and painless! Until I was almost finished with my project and realized I needed the same bolt/screw but slightly longer. So, I made the trip back to your store and as soon as I walked in, I got the same friendly service from another employee. Jeremy came from around the corner and recognized me and said, "Welcome back." I said yall were so nice i had to come twice LOL. He helped me get exactly what I needed, and Valerie saw me walking through the store and greeted me once again. These are small things but are so meaningful and set your business apart from The Home Depot / Lowe's etc. You have two great employees in Valerie & Jeremy. Please do something nice for them because when you have happy employees, they will make sure your customers are happy too. I will be visiting your store for all of my future hardware purchases. I was helping my son with some plumbing and fix-it projects for his house he was selling and needed bathroom sink supply lines. I told him I'd run to Home Depot but he recommended Hamilton Hardware. I love local businesses and liked the old-fashioned friendly service right when I walked in. Went to plumbing and tried to figure out what I needed. I am not much of a plumber but picked them out. A staff member asked to help and I showed him the old ones. He immediately pointed out that I needed a different one than I selected and found just what I needed. If I had gone to a Big-Box I would have had to make 2 trips and added to my frustration. The price & quality was great and the service made all the difference! Don't go miles farther up Hwy 6. if i could give 0 stars i would every time i go into this store i get followed by workers basically spying on me while i shop. Not only that but when i do let them help me they give me the wrong sizes. once it was a nut for a screw like seriously i even gave the guy the screw to try the nuts on. doesn't deserve all the good reviewes read more

You would think it would be easy finding what you need in a big box store for such a simple thing. Two trips later and I was still lost. Took a shot with Ace knowing its more expensive and much smaller but it took them less than 3 minutes to find what I needed. Props for that. For those that are interested, I was looking for a TPR valve discharge tube. (Water heater parts.) Yes, I could have found the parts at the big box store but they first sold me the wrong size tube, then sold me the wrong adapters. I made it work but the finished product looked ghetto and was against IRC code anyways. So I ripped it all out to start over. read more

Great little hardware store and it has a post office in the back. It's close to our house so we run up there often for things we need. Sure beats going to the big box stores and spending half an hour looking for something. They have a good selection too and the staff is super helpful. read more

I've gone to these guys for so many different types of home projects: sprinkler systems, paint, wall repair, plumbing, etc. Each time they've gone out of their way to offer me advice and even instructions on how to do the repairs. I have an older home and pieces of it break unexpectedly. And, like a crotchety old man, it stares at me judgmentally insinuating that it's all my fault. This last summer, for example, I had a major leak on my main water shut-off valve, and had no idea how or where to start. I had a professional plumbing company quote me (over the phone) several hundred dollars to replace it entirely. So before going that route, I brought the Ace guys pictures (and eventually the entire system) to see if I could repair it on my own. They helped me identify and remove one of the relief valves that had fractured like a bad hip (did I mention it was a HUGE amount of high-pressured water?) and replace it, then explain how to repair and rejoin the PVC pipes to it. Now it works perfectly. In short, instead of duping me into buying extra parts or lazily sending me elsewhere, they went the extra mile to teach me how to do it, and that made all the difference. read more

Ace is the closest hardware store to my house in the bear creek area. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. They are a little more expensive, but the time they save me is well worth a few more dollars. Their selection is a little limited on everyday items. (not many choices on lightbulbs.) read more

What i like about this Ace is that everyone in the staff is very fiendly, and knowledgable. and if thee is something specific like a screw or an item that minor they are just the place to find it vurses the big stores that sell you everything in bulks.
