It is one of the most centrally located street markets in London. The market mainly caters for local residents and the office population in the immediate Victoria Street area, selling food, groceries, books and clothing, but is becoming increasingly popular with tourists. My wife and I visited the Strutton Ground Market while we were on a trip to London in April 2019. We had just visited Westminster Abbey down the street, and my wife told me about a great street market that we could stop at for lunch. She had studied abroad in London and knew her way around the city pretty well. There were so many delicious-sounding food vendors that we had trouble picking. I decided to order from a Middle Eastern food vender called Falafel Zaki Zaki. I ordered "The Whole Shebang Wrap" which was stuffed with falafel, eggplant (aubergine), salad, hot peppers, pickled vegetables and white sauce. Just as I was about to take a picture of the delicious wrap, the vendor posed for the shot and had me cracking up. That wrap was so good!! My wife found a cool Indian street food vendor and ordered some Samosas and a side of Chicken with Rice. We ended up sharing all of our food and were very happy with our choices. We'll definitely stop again on our next trip to London.

I had visited several locations while in London and they are all laid out roughly the same, making it easy to find what you need. They are slightly cheaper than posh smaller markets, but it is a standard chain grocery store, so quality is a little less for meat, fruit, veggies, etc. There are quite a few around London and its outskirts, so never had an issue while visiting, which is great. All and all, I overall was quite happy with my visits.

The stalls are mainly fruit and veg with the sellers calling out their wares as you would imagine happening in the archetypal English market. The quality of fruit can vary, so be discerning. There are also stalls selling flowers, bags, odd electrical items, a fishmonger and a creperie. Mu favourite is the stall selling nuts and little snacks like Japanese crackers. It's can be found towards the northern end of the market. There's a good selection often with little pots available for tasters. The chap who runs the stall is also very helpful with suggestions if you're not sure what to get. I wonder if Berwick Street Market will survive Westminster Council's revolution. It would be a shame if it doesn't.

Many people associate Whole Foods with organic - which it is, but not everything here is organic. So you have to have that expectation. The prepared foods are top-notch. Hot bar, salad bar, soups, and pizza are nice... not cheap at $12/lb, but you get what you pay for. If you're a Prime member, pay attention to the daily sales. You can get whole pizzas on the cheap as well as some wine sometimes. I'll be back!

I came on a Saturday at lunchtime and there were two stalls offering lunch takeaway (I tried the Thai stall, which was good) and a couple of grocers with fresh meat and produce. Compared to other street markets, Tachbrook is quite small and doesn't have much to offer. But it was fun to stumble across, and hopefully it grows!
