This is pretty much exactly what you'd want from a budget hotel: affordable, easy access right from the main train station, walkable to old town within a few minutes, very friendly English-speaking front desk service, free breakfast, free WiFi, clean rooms, flat-screen TV, etc. The only down side is that a lot of the rooms, like ours, face right onto the train tracks -- so it's hard to keep the window open for fresh air with the noise. However, with the window closed, you can't hear the trains at all. (Fun fact: you can also buy bottles of beer/wine right at the front desk/bar and bring them up to your room.) The other great thing -- which you don't realize is so great until you visit a lot of other hotels in Germany/Austria -- is that there are 3 big dispensers in the shower of shampoo, conditioner, and soap (at least 2 other higher-rated hotels I stayed in had only one all-purpose dispenser). read more
