The room and hotel itself were very clean, which I genuinely appreciated. However, the breakfast was a major disappointment. The selection was extremely limited, and a surprising number of items contained peppers, even in dishes where you wouldn't normally expect them. This is especially problematic for me because I'm allergic, and it also meant my kids wouldn't eat any of it. For a hotel serving a wide range of guests, I would have expected more standard, neutral options with toppings or add-ins offered on the side. Instead, we ended up having to leave and grab breakfast from a drive-thru on our way out. Overall, the stay was fine, but the breakfast definitely fell short of expectations. read more

We booked this hotel through Hilton and got a very good price. We found out why when we arrived. They were renovating the entire place. It was not a problem and didn't bother us since all amenities were available. Our suite room was spacious and well appointed. Everything was new. The breakfast area offered fresh hot and cold varieties of food. I especially enjoyed the homemade waffles. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to extreme weather we had to extend our stay by one day and the front desk staff took care of our request with no problem. We will definitely stay here again. read more

The hotel was beautiful. Updated, Bright, and visually appealing. The inside is up to date and has a boutique feel in the main entrance area. The rooms as well as common areas are very clean. The staff was super pleasant and welcoming to us each time they seen us. The room (King) was very spacious. The bathroom had the updated shower head and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, this is a great option for the price paid. I will definitely stay again when in Birmingham. read more

They lied and said the hotel was flooded because they have my room away after the Alabama Tennessee game. I had already confirmed I would be late since it was a night game so they lied. Jennifer the desk clerk told me the hotel did not flood. The night auditor told me it was flooded.They cancelled 15 minutes later to act as if I canceled but my car records Bluetooth conversations. Sorry to be so blunt but this place is horrible. And this coming from a Hilton Diamond member. Walls are paper thin - so noisy. Is this a Sleep Inn?! The room was in total disrepair. See photos. Bugs in the bathroom. TV must have been one of the original flat screens. It is clear the owner of this place has let it go. You can paint the outside all you want but the inside does not lie. I am a Hilton Honors members for many years. The business appeared to be remodeled short time a ago. I double check my room door by pushing on it after we left the room, the door opened. Talking to the front desk, they said they knew about the problem and I should lift up on the door to latch and lock. The breakfast in the morning needs some attention, possible fresh fruit, plates and utensils needed to be placed better than under the counter. Zero stars! DO NOT STAY HERE! I am 48 years old and this was the worst hotel experience in my entire life. Upon arrival we had a great crew. Checked into our dated room, not a big deal. It was very clean! There was a barking dog in the room next to us. We attended a concert and I walked back into the lobby with my nephew at 10:30. Night shift guy (Tal?) greeted us with kindness. We sat there watching baseball on mute until my husband and niece returned. At 11:07 the front desk clerk returned to tell us we needed to turn off the TV and return to our rooms. It was "quiet" hours. I get up and start walking away when the female front desk "lady" started screaming at her co-worker because we had been sitting out there. She screamed and threw a tantrum well past midnight. We could hear it in our room down the hall. This unhinged employee who behaved like a like a lunatic needs to be committed to a psychiatric ward. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever witnessed. We talked to the manager the next morning and she made excuses for the crazy woman because she has been raped twice and is afraid of men. How could anyone condone this unacceptable behavior? This employee now has our contact and credit card information. It is creepy! Courtney and night shift guy are the real deal. I can't even imagine what they are dealing with working with this mentally ill woman. She needs to be fired! read more

I think I was on drugs the last time I stayed here and did not give this 5 stars. When you stay in 5 Hamptons in 5 nights in 5 cities, it does get confusing so I think I was not remembering the right one as I update yelp at the end of the week. This is a newer ( 5 floor) Hampton off the freeway in Pelham near tons of food and near our office in Pelham when visiting. The staff here is so nice, helpful and we arrived still in time for the happy hour- free beer, appetizers and wine and so we chilled a bit in the lobby before going up and then went up to freshen up and head to dinner. Rooms are clean and VERY comfortable. Different style beds than other Hamptons but still had the IM NEVER GETTING OUT OF BED super soft King beds, clean bathrooms, plenty of room and again- CLEAN!! Set the air as low as I could and headed out to dinner. The front desk girl ( Im sorry I forgot her name) remembered me from 10 months ago- I'm sure it was my dashing good looks- (NOT) but was super nice and had recommendations for food up to the Mall area up on the perimeter to local fares near the hotel. I'm here now 2-3 times a year, will ALWAYS stay here form here forward and glad I had a chance to look at my last review and update it to the 5 stars it deserves. I love being recognized, not just a Diamond or Gold member , but because they have great management and a good staff that remembers faces and customers. That and a clean room and great lounge area is what it is all about. And the beds of course. Stay here. You won't be disappointed. ! read more

I'm only giving this hotel a 5-Star review because I had a great experience with Kyle (reception). Management needs to acknowledge Kyle's professionalism and customer service skills. I tried to check in at 10am since my flight landed early. Lady at the counter said "thank you for your diamond status....oh we were sold out last night so we don't have any rooms, how about you give me a call at around noon time and I'll see if I have any rooms." ^What the. You just thanked me for my Diamond Status and yet you wanted me to do your work for you.... my part was driving all the way from the airport to your hotel to just be able to get into a room. Whoever her name was at check-in that was working on 10/22/2019, her customer service skills are so subpar. I then made my way to Birmingham for work (had to change in my car because there were "no rooms" available) so I returned to this hotel at 10pm. Kyle was checking me in and gave me room 226. Room 226 - walked in and there was instantly a distinct odor. The wall thermostat wasn't working. Called Kyle, call asked if he could come and check it out and he did. He agreed with my findings and asked if I wanted to switch rooms. I went down to the reception area with him and he mentioned there was only one other room left on the 3rd floor (I dislike staying at any floor other than the first floor because elevators tend to be quite slow and when I'm traveling for work I'm super "on the go") so I asked if there were any other options. Apparently they have some sort of agreement with the Fairfield next door and he went out of the way to call them and ask for availabilities. Fairfield did have an availability but I asked if I could check out that last room (333). I checked it out and there was no odor and the thermostat was working. I was fine with staying in room 333. In conclusion: Kyle was professional and helpful the entire way. Remembered my name during the subsequent nights and always had a smile on his face. Kudos to you Kyle. Recommendation: please change the carpets. They're old. read more

Pretty decent hotel. Typical Hampton Inn. Decent size rooms, comfortable and clean, reasonably priced. As always, got my free waters and cookie at check in. There are plenty of restaurants within a short distance so you won't be left searching for a place to eat. read more

Definitely not worth $225 for one night. For starters the floors are so dirty they turn your feet black when you walk on them. Next, the tv isn't a smart tv so you're stuck only watching cable. Which is fine but i feel if i pay $225 for one night for one room i should be able to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. read more

A near perfect stay, from the check in to the check out, and all points in between. Digital key for no contact check in was effortless, and getting a real room key just in case was easy. The front desk person, Clae, was friendly, thoughtful and a pleasure to work with. When I asked if they had any ibuprofen for my girlfriend, she said they didn't but when we returned from dinner and a concert next door, she had found some and had them in an envelope she had slipped under our door. With a lovely note as well! The room was perfect, and as always, the Hampton bed was just right. Breakfast in the morning was more than I could have asked for, from having coffee the way I like it as well as items to eat which made me feel right at home. As an experienced traveler, I know things cannot be perfect, but the small adjustments (2% instead of skim milk for coffee and creamy versus crunchy peanut butter for the English muffin), were a small price to pay for a lovely stay. All in all, my expectations of the experience provided by Hampton were exceeded, which in these troubled times, is saying a lot. read more

I hate to write this preview, we have stayed at this Hampton off and on The past several years. We haven't been in four years. When we arrived the clerk was very friendly and courteous. We went to our room and it had a very odd odor, the room looked very outdated. The box spring on one of the beds was very dirty looking and ratty. There were cobwebs and crumbs in one of the corners where I went to set my shoes. The carpet was wet, it appeared to have been cleaned, there was an awful odor in the room like wet dog or dirty feet. It was almost instantly my sister went into an asthma attack. The showerhead, a piece fell off. This was definitely not the standards of a Hampton Inn hotel, not sure what's going on there. The clerk was very nice and helpful she was trying to find us a different room but they were booked. we will not be staying there again until they remodel these rooms. What can I say about the Hampton? Well we love when we travel to stay at these hotels because the customer service is excellent.. Comfy beds...Room was very clean and looked amazing!. So is the breakfast they provide. The fresh fruit and juices.. yummy grits oatmeal..all kinds of cereals..mini omelettes/ sausages...I guess the only thing that we didn't like is the TV in our was extremely slow.. The TV service wasn't all that great...An the iron in our room did not have a top (to keep in the water) when I had to steam my shorts..Now I'm sure if I complain to customer service in the front lobby they would've replaced the iron but after a long day of traveling ..it is what it is and I just Dealt with it. Oh most Hamptons do give military discounts for all you veterans out there...(Of which we are) ..Always great info to pass along! read more

Television has a line in the picture and keeps breaking up during shows. Hot water is a premium in the mornings. And most annoying of all, room keys have to be reprogrammed daily. read more

Two months ago we booked a room at this hotel. We called the night prior to arriving to confirm the reservation along with informing them that we would be a late arrival. Attended the Alabama football game and called the hotel to let them know we were on our way. The individual answering the phone informed us that they had no more rooms and when we questioned her she hung up. We had a four hour drive home starting at 12:00 a.m. in the morning, as we could not locate a hotel that had a room available. Talked to the manager the following day and he gave a poor excuse and would not take ownership. This Hampton Inn is a poorly run hotel and reservations are not honored. I would really give them 2.5 stars, but that isn't an option. First off, the staff was very nice and the bathroom was clean. However, the most important thing at a hotel is the BED! I think this was the worst one I've ever laid on at a hotel. When I sat down, I was distraught! I heard the springs in the mattress eeking instead of memory foam which adjusts to my body. We felt like needles were poking us in the back throughout the night...arggghhh! The horrible bed along with the blackout curtains that didn't totally black out the sun made for two sleepless nights. They should've reconsidered the A/C unit location with short curtains above it. The sun definitely came right through. The walls are also paper thin and the room was very stuffy. Great entry to the hotel and friendly southern hospitality. The rooms however needs some help. The mattresses are old and worn out, and the a/c would cut on and off all night sounding like a jet engine. There is a tiny token pool on the side for about 4 people. When we arrived after 11pm we were told our room could not accommodate a rollaway because of fire safety, so my daughter ended up sleeping on the floor despite my paying almost $400! The desk clerk made NO attempts to resolve the situation and did not even apologize. Just said "we cannot see what they promise you." The next morning our toilet began to overflow. I called the front desk and the girl immediately came up to the room.. And handed ME the plunger... I'm expected to plunge the toilet?? We make a trip to this area about every other month.... I stayed here with a group in June and we had a few problems that could have been easily solved. The staff member who tried to help us figure out our bill was incompetent and charged the wrong one of us for our stay and forgot to charge others. When I called to ask how they could fix it, they told me that "Well, you already paid us, so it's out of our hands". The manager and the owner do not return phone calls and have no desire to help anyone. Furthermore, after dealing with Hilton Corporate for almost a month regarding my experience, no one in my group or in our area will ever stay in a Hilton hotel again.
