We chose this location because it was cleaner quieter than the ones located near Cedar Point. We came in late with a check-in staff was only average friendly. I came in with low expectations, as it was a 2.5 star hotel, but was thoroughly impressed and would not hesitate to stay at this Hampton Inn again if I'm in the area. About 3 weeks ago, Cedar Point let its hotel guests know that they would be closing their hotels on Monday and Tuesday nights. This meant that our booking of Sunday night through Tuesday would be half invalid. I was scrambling to find us a hotel in the area that wasn't insanely priced or disgustingly gross. I found this Hampton Inn and the price was great - we paid $250 total for 2 nights. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Cedar Point, which isn't terrible at all for the price that we paid. I checked in online the day before and our room was ready at my selected check-in time. We arrived about 15-20 minutes before that time, so that was on us. Receptionist was super nice and helpful. She was also very nice the next morning when I came down to ask about the breakfast boxes. Breakfast boxes consisted of a yogurt, mini bagel, and two hard-boiled eggs. Not the best breakfast - but for a free box, it was fine. Coffee is served 24/7 in the lobby. Pool is open until 11pm and had a hot tub that was absolutely fantastic after a long 7 hour drive. Main pool was a bit cold, but we made do. The room was extremely clean - they had the sticker to indicate that the room had been cleaned and sanitized. Room came fully stocked with toiletries - including shower cap and cotton swabs. They aren't doing housekeeping during the stay, so if you need anything you can just ask the front desk. Beds were comfortable and came with a heavy comforter, which was very nice. Pillows were actually not bad. All in all, I had a great stay and will definitely be keeping my eye out for Hampton Inn's in the future. read more

Perfect location for me, half way between Virginia and a spot in northern lower Michigan. Easy to find right off the toll road. Front desk, has been friendly on every visit, (4) so far. Room is very clean and smells nice, and quiet surroundings. Amenities are plentiful, nice snack shop, pool, gym, coffee, breakfast. On that last point, breakfast is great, from 6am to 10am, eggs, sausage, hot/cold cereal, fresh fruit, bagels/cream cheese. Great way to start your day... and fresh brewed coffee always available. Parking is plentiful, there is an entrance right near the elevators for easy unloading and loading. No negatives about this location, nice folks that run a friendly, clean hotel. read more

I cannot say enough how wonderful this Hampton Inn was. After driving straight through from New England, I just got too tired and needed a place to stay the night. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to stay here, rather than the country inn and the days inn, and I wasn't disappointed. Incredibly nice and helpful girl at the desk, my room was incredibly clean, and the breakfast spread downstairs in the morning was pretty nice. Stayed at this hotel for a baseball tournament and very impressed! This hotel looks to be fairly new. The room was a 2 queen bed room and it was clean and spacious! The front desk people were extremely friendly and helpful! Check in was a breeze! They have a nice indoor pool along with a workout room. There is complementary coffee available at all times. The breakfast area was a hit! Hot food such as western style omelettes, bacon, potatoes along with a waffle maker! Also plenty on fruit, yogurt and breads available. The nice lady in charge on the area kept everything stocked and clean! Definitely worth the visit! read more

This appears to be a newer hotel, located at Exit 118 on the Ohio Turnpike. The key is to remember that, coming from the Turnpike, keep to the right after the toll booth, go under the railroad underpass, then take a sharp right, then double back to the end of the frontage road. The hotel is literally in the middle of a corn field, but don't let that put you off; this isn't Gatlin, NE. I got a good night's sleep and got a chance in the morning to needle my friend who was scared of staying in a hotel in the middle of a corn field. read more

They have built a new building about one hundred yards from the previous property...the new building is exceptionally good with many of the familiar updates at newer Hampton properties (nicer breakfast area, carpeted steps, wide hallways, more rooms, etc.) There is also an outdoor fire pit type area (?!) close to the pool in case you want to listen to traffic roar by on the turnpike and admire the weedy lot to the south. As others have mentioned, there is a roofing/tar plant nearby. With a wind from the west it is just about enough to knock you out. That said...with the windows closed (does anyone open windows at a Hampton) I could not smell anything that would interrupt my stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

We're staying here right now and I am hapoy to announce that our room is super clean and the lady at the front desk was really nice and personable! It's a great distance from Cedar Point and all the restaurants, and it's right off the highway, but not so close that you can hear the traffic. It has a nice outdoor area for relaxing in the evening. Everything is either well taken care of or brand new, because this place is far from the worn down old hotels that everyone tries to avoid. As of right now 10/10 would stay again. read more

Nice location right off the highway, easy to get to. Desk staff were super friendly and helpful, including providing directions to some restaurants. Free parking and plenty of it (though I am here in Cedar Point's off season). We skipped the free breakfast and went down the street. I am sure it's good; it just wasn't what we were looking for. Room was clean and ready when I arrived. I noticed some mold on the bathroom ceiling, but the normal kind of mold that lives in bathrooms that are not well ventilated. Some bleach and water will take that right off. Good place for the price and they both take and reward Hilton Honors. read more

Ok, it's a little hard to find even with a garmin as it's on a service road off the main road but when you do it's well worth it. The hotel has a very nice outward appearance and the lobby is very nice too. The check in staff are very friendly and efficient as well. We had requested adjoining rooms but none were open. The staff made sure we at least got rooms right next to each other. The rooms were very nice and extremely clean. It was also nice that they had a small refrigerator and a microwave. Free breakfast was included and it was really good with many choices. The ladies who maintain it were so friendly and helpful and made breakfast a pleasant experience! I recommend this hotel and would use it again next time I am in the area. read more

I enter the lobby in the mornin to get a coffee and noticed snack bags on the counter. I went to see what was inside and maybe take something to my kids or wait for them to come to the lobby. My kids are picky eaters like most kids. As I engaged in retrieving some bags I get startled by a load aggressive tone. Don't touch all the bags they are all the same." I started to reply I just wanted to see what was inside the bags before I took it to make sure they would eat it. I barely got a response out and she scolded me again with " Well don't touch tall the bags" I can only assume this was covid 19 concern First If there is that much fear and concern here at this business then why is this attendant not cleaning the buttons for the elevator or the door handles on every door after each use? Can't spread covid 19 by touch a brown paper bag folks. I then take a seat to drink my coffee I then observe multiple guests and the lobby engaged in he same activity then leave and this attendant says nothing. I then realize my skin is a bit browner then hers or the other guests. I appreciate essential workers mostly because I am one myself and run a business that is essential. If this was employe I would discipline them on he spot up to and including possibly termination. Bottom line at the end of the day this is hospitality and should never happen this way. I would strongly suggest educating the staff around all the information that is readily available on covid 19. they would then and could focused on enforcing the correct activities. There are more covid germs on the counter at the front desk , doors and elevator then anywhere else in this hotel, yet I haven't seen any one clean them at all. I would also recommend exclusive and inclusive training for the staff at this Location. There are some internal bias openly displayed at this location. I would also get them some education and training on covid 19. if the lack of knowledge was truly the cause of this display of policing guests then the training should mitigate this poor experience. Pulling up to the property, there was a strong chemical odor, apparently from a tire plant across the street. Mildly noticeable in the hotel. The TV in the breakfast area was on Fox and all the TVs in the exercise room were set to a religious channel that couldn't be changed. The receptionists were pleasant, but I couldn't help noticing the hotel staff mocking refugees as they looked at one women's phone while I was checking out. Welcome to Trump country! I am a fan of Hampton Inn and will continue to be. This one was clean, good beds, nice desk people. The odor from the pool area was so toxic I should have called the Dept. of Health. It was nauseating. Our room was above the pool, and I awoke at 3am sickened by it. I called the front desk, lovely, and they told me that it was coming from a nearby factory. I spent a night of shear misery believing that I would need to find a hotel elsewhere. In fact it was NOT from any factory. Something was wrong with the pool and whirlpool. Frankly, it smelled like natural gas. A horror. As well, the men's room in the lobby was out of order for our entire stay. At breakfast, there were bottles of water available. In spite of the fact that there was a refrigerator, none of the bottles were cold. When I asked for ice, I was told that the ice machine was broken, but I could go up to the 2nd floor and get myself a bucket of ice. All in all, a very disappointing experience read more

We stayed here for 1 night when visiting Cedar Point. Well, this was a bit away from Cedar Point but conveniently just right off the OH turnpike. We checked in before heading downtown and the room was a nice size. The bathroom was reasonable size so were happy with the room. The swimming pool was also a reasonable size so able to do laps for 30 minutes. We swapped between the pool and the hot tub. It was nice that the pool area opens at 7AM and closes at 1AM. The next morning, we got breakfast and it was a nice selection of cereal, oatmeal, and hot items. I was happy that there was hard-boiled eggs since the scrambled eggs looked pretty artificial to me. read more

The continental breakfast was good and had a lot of options. Plus there's a pool and hot tub. We are on our way back from a road trip. The Hilton app was not available (why they'd do maintenance on a weekend I don't know) so we had to walk in to ask for a room. I explained to the very nice girl at the front desk that the app was down so I couldn't check the Hilton Honors (AARP) cost for the room. I did see the same hotel listed on Hotels.com for $10 less than what I was quoted. I asked if I could use points, I was told no because I'd have to book through the website/app to use points. Egads. For goodness sake, how about some customer service here?! Don't gouge an HH member on a hotel room and how about trying to go the extra mile since the app is down. Hilton hotels have always been our number one choice when we're traveling. We just became SPG members, so I guess we should start exploring other options. So disappointed in the price and the customer service here! read more

I'm normally a big fan of Hampton Inn, but this one doesn't live up to the normal quality standard. The lobby area is the nicest part of the building, so maybe the free breakfast will still hit the mark, but the second floor smells smokey, sprinkler holes (without sprinklers), I had to clean the leaves out of the pool myself, and there is a train that passes within a couple hundred feet. read more

I've stayed here on 2 different occasions, both times when i was driving from boston to chicago. I've found the Hampton Inn chain to be consistently good. If you have AAA, they offer a nice discount. Clean, comfortable rooms. Soft bedding. Flat-panel TVs with cable. This particular location had great water pressure. Complimentary continental breakfasts are a must-have for me, and HI does not disappoint. They also have breakfasts to go - bottled water, cereal bar, piece of fruit, some other things that travel well. Easy, no-charge parking. I didn't do any touristy things in the area so I can't speak to that, but it's right off the highway, easy to find and a great place to stop and recharge for a night while on the road. read more

Booked a room here for 2 days. Very clean hotel, nicely decorated and nice staff. Spacious rooms. Free breakfast was good and had a nice variety. I like they always had coffee out in the lobby. Pool are was also nice and my only negative for was that the hot tub jets were not working right. As well as the fact that there were 12 unsupervised kids all under the age of 10 in the pool area acting rowdy to the point my kids didn't want to swim. They really should enforce the rules on needing an adult in the pool area for kids under 14. At any rate, it's a very nice hotel. read more

This is probably one of the oldest properties from this brand that I've ever seen. However, in the four times I've stayed here, I've also found it to be one of the cleanest. That's not easy given the material that the housekeeping staff has to work with. I'm not saying the place is falling apart. It's actually fairly we'll maintained. It's just overdue for a facelift. I've found the other services to be on par for Hampton Inns. The free internet service is fast enough. The free breakfast has always been decent. Aside from the notable fact that the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing when you arrive, you are greeted with warmth and hospitality before you even get to the front desk. Jason, without a doubt, had the most organically personable nature of any desk clerk I've encountered. He was efficient, precise, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Along with creative and bodacious, as he made paper airplanes for my kids while they played in the lobby. Every person that came to the front desk was serviced and supported in a genuine way. My wife, also my business partner, usually try to stay at a Hampton when we are out of town on business. We are usually on the road 2-4 days of each week on business and have another crew out on a similar schedule. This Hampton is off our list for the future. Staff is vey friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast hostess, but the building seems a little more basic (cheaply built) than most Hampton Inns. Room was clean and quiet. BUT, be aware that there is a "roofing" plant nearby - that's we were told it is anyway - where they apparently manufacture something with a tar base. The smell became overbearing at about 10:30pm - to the point that we considered whether it was worth it to try to find another motel for the reminder of the evening. We did not, and did get some sleep, but we will mark this one off our list for future travels. read more

I stayed there a month ago and never smelled anything. This time, it was unbearable. I learned that there is a shingle factory nearby. It ruined the entire trip. read more

One of the nicest Hamptons I've stayed at. Only a year old, it's very well done. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and appointed. Bathroom is beautiful. The staff was great, quick and efficient. We had a great, restful stay. I would stay here any time and recommend it to anyone. Price was the same as any other Hampton. Higher for the area, but I'm sure the best hotel for the price. read more
