Varying options for co-work space... which was a little too much to have to decide on upon entry/payment.. when I wanted to just go to sit to work and simply pay the $4/hr. Would be nice to have a day rate or package options (if there were any... I was not made aware). You can sit at a desk, a single booth, loungy options, outside deck barstools or chairs, rooms.. I parked in the street and had to pay hourly (and wasn't sure if there was a cap for the hours I could park there...). there is a parking lot adjacent that I believe was free, if there are any spaces available. Great co-working space overlooking the bay! Beautiful sights, fast wi-fi, and tons of work spaces to keep you focused. While I didn't use any of the rooms this time around, they had a lot of options, ranging from a single person desk to 20-person conference room. Everything felt very new and clean, which I appreciated. The staff were really friendly checking me in, and they also provide parking if you reserve a desk. Price is pretty good at $4/hour for the open workspaces. They also have a coffee shop on site (not included with reservation). Definitely worth a visit! read more

It was a perfect little getaway for the 2 hours that I needed to feel inspired, while also soaking in the sun. You don't have to have a membership to enjoy the Co-working space, as you can pay by the hour ($4) and extend as you need to. The staff were very nice and answered all my questions. By far the weirdest concept I've seen in a while. Came to Blue Bottle to enjoy a coffee and study with a friend but the workers were either rude or pushy. Before I was made aware that you had to pay, I asked the front desk worker what this concept was all about out of pure interest as the work space itself is physically appealing and had nice ambience. He side eyed me and mumbled a couple words that I couldn't understand then just stared at me. I felt so awkward so I went ahead and sat down and then he comes to tell me AFTER I take out all my stuff that I have to pay to sit. Confused, I still paid for 2 hours because why not. If paying to study was already weird enough, the website has many technical issues and glitches. Iit took me 8 minutes to book a reservation...so inconvenient. You would think for such a modern concept their website wouldn't be so difficult to use. The other worker was nice, but so pushy. Overall, I think the concept is whatever, and it wouldn't be a big deal if the workers were at least knowledgeable and had basic customer service skills. I think the two most important things to know is - 1. If you make a reservation here, you get FREE lot parking. Talk to the front desk about a parking pass. 2. You do not need to buy coffee to sit in this area. I did actually see people without coffee, so I don't think this is uncommon. Overall, this is a really nice place, but the whole place is basically a romanticization of what remote work and the co-working experience actually is. Think IG posts and TikTok stories. It is aesthetic as heck with the view of Newport Bay. I will say, though, the open space area (aka the cheapest rate) does not have that great of a view unless you're sitting outside, which is not ideal if you're working off a screen. The upstairs area, which is significantly more expensive, has all the views. But upstairs area is also significantly smaller, and the work space doesn't look as practical, not that many people use it. As for the work area, I really appreciate how wide the tables are. There's really ample space for you to sprawl out and put things next to each other e.g. you can take notes with pen and paper while using a laptop without having to push the laptop further back in the table. There's also a ton of outlets for recharging electronics. There aren't really any amenities aside from a handful of lockers to lock stuff away. Other co-working spaces I've been to have small kitchens, food and snack options, etc. I think realistically this place is a glorified coffee shop, not that there's anything wrong with that. It's very affordable for what it provides vs. other places. Amusingly, there's a coffee shop attached to it. read more

When I first arrived no one was at the front desk; they should have a Be Right Back sign. First level table by the cafe seemed crowded and cramped so I didn't want to sit there. I arrived 30 min early for my meeting. Thought it was a bit ridiculous to be told feel free to make a reservation (and pay) if you want to sit somewhere else (on 1st floor). No thanks. You can just say to walk-in customers the rest of the floor is reservations only and leave it at that. Restroom was dirty as someone left their trash inside and peed all over the seat and floor. There was a wait for restrooms. You can get a parking pass with the reservation. read more

I have 6 employees who traveled from all over So Cal to stay in Newport Beach for tomorrows meeting just to get this last minute notice of them canceling me. This is BS, all the time and money spent to get everyone here just to get an email saying SORRY???? Email was from Julie Schiler. The right thing to do was pick up the phone and call me. My boyfriend and I wanted to get some coffee while getting work done, we have been to blue bottle before in San Diego but fell in love with the study space of Hanahaus. It gives you a great view of the Marina and is incredibly aesthetic with lots of natural lighting. The workers are very respectful, the bathrooms are nice and the wifi claps you do have to pay $3/hr per person but I think it's worth the price if you end up being productive (I always do). Parking is easily accessible, and you can sign up online to reserve rooms, open seating or an office space. It's gorgeous and absolutely calming. The focus achieved by working here is intense! Check in at the front desk to show your rental and your set. Im typically here so often that everyone at Blue Bottle and Hana Haus knows my name. I love it here. There's a small dog walking area, fireplace with a motivational quote engraved and not to mention the beautiful views of the boats outside on the bay! It can't get better than this. I worked from here after walking by it for years and it was just as great as I thought it would be. it's really spacious, beautiful, clean, has an ocean view, so many different seating areas, private offices, an upstairs, a coffee bar inside, privacy screens and they even had free treats from the coffee bar for us to try. Staff is incredibly rude and very pushy. Told someone I would pay after my meeting since I got in late and was locked out of my account. I paid as soon as I was done with my meeting. Was interuppted 3x during my call for the same exact thing I told the first person. Paid for 1.5 hours and was harassed about unpaid time at the 1 hour mark of my stay. So rude and incredibly unprofessional. The Lido Hotel next door will let you use their Wifi for free and won't interrupt you during meetings for something you've already talked with someone about. read more

Love the idea of paying per hour instead of committing to a monthly membership like most coworking spaces. As someone who can work from anywhere, I wish there were more of these!! I had to be in the Newport area and needed somewhere to work so I checked this place out. First of all, the location is amazing right by the water and in the Lido Marina Village - an outdoor shopping area with nice restaurants and stores. Parking was surprisingly easy for me and I got a spot in their lot both times but I think it's because I came during off times. They will give you a parking pass if you park in the specific lot! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and right when they opened at 7am on a Wednesday. I will say it started to get packed around 9am-11am on Wednesday to the point there were not many seats available and overheard people saying there was no parking. I stuck with the open floor seating and wasn't bothered by noise. Although, if I had a meeting I'd probably choose a more private space -- which they have for a higher price per hour. There is still a decent amount of seating and a good variety of arm chairs & booths if you go with open seating. Both times I came here, the HanaHaus staff were really helpful and friendly. Also, love that there's a Blue Bottle inside! I would order your coffee first before your reservation starts to really maximize your time :) read more

Whistle while you work! I'm so glad I found this shared work space. Too bad I only had two hours of work to do here today. Lovely, modern, functional, airy atmosphere and the staff are super nice. The set up was very easy, just sign up and reserve online, walk in and get to work. While booking, you can select which type of working environment you need, for how many people, and for how long. It's cool that blue bottle coffee is seamlessly connected and that there are free lockers for added security. I chose to work in the spacious common area for $3/hour (no membership required) in order to best enjoy the gorgeous harbor views. What a sight! There was only one thing that I wish was different -- there was quite a bit of foot traffic walking around. Curious customers of blue bottle coffee who wander around to admire the interiors and the views. I doubt many of them were aware that there are people paying to use the work space. It was distracting to say the least, although my earphones helped. However, when I had to take a call out on the deck (in consideration for the other working guests inside), I was a little concerned about my belongings sitting out. Not that the coffee patrons looked seedy by any means; but as a former urbanite, I have paranoia about kleptomaniacs. You just never know. It would have been nice to have more restricted access-- otherwise, may as well opt for the coffee shop's free work tables just a few steps away. My thoughts on blue bottle coffee is forthcoming in a separate review entry. If I'm working in the area again, I'll surely return here!! This change of scenery was truly a treat. P.S. You can bring your own snacks and drinks. Also, it's OK to use your phone and hold meetings in the common area, so don't expect a quiet library setting. I came here earlier in the week to get some work done. It was my first time here and I gotta say, I'll definitely be coming back as often as I can. The space was clean and not tight. It was airy and roomy and you don't feel constricted like some of the other places I've been to. Plenty of seats available with a view of the marina which I thought was really cool. Parking was abundant even though you gotta pay for street parking (not a big deal). Wi-Fi was quick and the front desk folks were really nice. Some table areas around the attached Blue Bottle cafe is free and separate from Hana Haus. When facing the entrance of the building, there is an adjacent lot to the right with complimentary parking for the duration of your stay (just make sure you go in and ask for a parking pass when you check in for your session). Be aware that it is a small lot and the spaces are a tight squeeze, though.
