Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

We stayed in the dog friendly seperate section so if you aren't so keen on dogs, there is a beautiful seperated restaurant next door. The food is immense, very original menu with locally sourced food and a twist on some pub classics. I would recommend the samosa starter and chicken pate.

If you've been after the return of the great British pub with well cooked food - this is the place for you. All of the meat comes from local butcher, Martin Thomas of Pattingham and is cooked to perfection on site by the chef and owner, Caroline Haddon. Found myself passing though Wymeswold whilst having to take a devious route due to a major closure of part of the A14 near Kettering. Said I wanted a pint of a lightish bitter, he served me Harvest Pale (3.8%abv), it was excellent, good taste for such a light bitter, though when I had sat down I spotted an Adnams pump, and old favourite of mine, indeed I have just driven from East Suffolk where its brewed in Southwold. Their light bitter is 3.7%abv. Nice menu of pub food, then he pointed out special today was Liver and bacon. The large portion came with excellent mash, loads of gravy, peas and onions and was absolutely delicious. The jovial Landlord was good for a bit of a natter, and despite there not being too many people in , there was a nice atmosphere, one of the reasons I used to patronise it in my youth, and it only cost me £8.75 What a lovely experience to go back there

Don't expect a very quiet country pub as beer garden is next to the west coast main line. If you like trains thundering past you at over 100mph then that won't be a problem. That said the beer garden is rather attractive, not so large you can't keep an eye on the kids, but big enough that they can do their own thing. The mill building has laods of character, they explain the history of it on their website. Food and drink is solidly good, and can find no fault with it.
