She came in, took detailed measurements, and provided me with fantastic recommendations tailored specifically to my space and needs. What I appreciated most was how practical and personalized her suggestions were. She even sent me a list of products to purchase that would fit my spaces perfectly (or they offer the service to purchase and implement the systems in a separate session), which made the process so much easier. I've implemented many of her suggestions, and my kitchen now functions so much better - everything has a home, and it looks great too! We met with Karen a month or so before the move, and she evaluated our needs (from valuable & delicate items, to paintings and rugs, to pantry items, to number of boxes needed, etcetc) and suggested a v. reasonable price. She kept in touch with us as needed in the interim, and then came with her associate Leslie for 2 days prior to move, and packed everything with great care. Everything was ready for the movers on moving day, safely packed (ZERO breakage) and clearly labeled. And, to top things off, her fee was a few hundred $$$ UNDER original estimate. Karen and Leslie are great people, easy to welcome into one's home and to entrust with the stuff of one's lives. She gave one pillow to my dad and the other to me as Christmas gifts. Shortly thereafter, we discovered that the paint used to stencil the letters and numbers on the pillow was water soluble and wiped off with a damp paper towel. It would have been impossible to wash or even spot clean the front of the pillow case without also removing the stenciling. Today, well beyond the 14-day return policy stated on the receipt, my mom and I brought the pillows back to the store to see if there was anything we could do to protect the paint on the front of the pillow case (Scotchgard wasn't going to cut it). As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by an associate. We briefly explained our concern to the associate, and then without even batting an eye or even checking our receipt he apologized, stated that he was unaware of this issue, and immediately offered to exchange the pillows for other merchandise. We ended up selecting different Buffalo-themed pillows. Room offers beautiful contemporary furniture and home decor, and after spending time looking around the store and observing the quality of their merchandise, it's obvious that the faulty pillows were an anomaly and in no way typical of the products sold by Room. My mom and I were both impressed with this customer service experience and appreciate the attention we received.
