While visiting family on NC, our AC went out on our 40' Voltage 5th wheel. We called about getting it replaced. Scott said he was going to be up in our area and could and replace it. We declined only because we also wanted to have brakes and bearings checked. We were pleased with the work and that it was done so quickly. This is a family owned and operated business. Stopped here with another camper with both our RV's to get propane. Man, assume was owner, was at his desk on the phone. He stayed in his conversation for quite a while. At one point he said he'd be with us when he was done on the phone, but the phone conversation went on and on. Then another employee entered the store area. When asked if she could help us she said no, she hadn't started her shift yet. Finally, I said excuse me to the man on the phone to ask a simple question. He said he didn't know (it was a simple question that anyone who worked there would have known) and continued his phone conversation. At this point we both left. He missed out on 2 sales. If there was an opportunity to leave 0 stars I would do it. We stopped for LP gas: two motorhomes to fill. The guy was on the phone, never acknowledge us, and was very rude when after 10 minutes we talked to him. A girl came in, we asked if she worked there and she was also extremely rude. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!!!!! They knowingly sold me an RV with hidden damage and a leak. They assured me it was a coffee stain. Water actually pools in the floor after heavy rain. We had to have the back wall and living room ceiling completely torn out and repaired. Cost was almost $3000. Buyer beware. Does not go far enough educating people on purchases of used camper. read more

Driving by we saw the open sign on and decided to try to support what looked like a small, local business. I walked in to see an older man and woman reclining behind a desk in the corner. I smiled and told them I came in to check the place out and buy a few things. The response, "well we're about to CHECK OUT. Honey, we close at 5 o'clock" was not the greeting I expected. Oh well, so much for helping a small business...taking my money elsewhere- REI has better stock and gives dividends so no more charity shopping for this place from me! read more

We first bought a camper in the beginning of when Covid started. We drove up from another state and I had spoken to Robert on the phone to let him know when we were coming in. He was very helpful when we got there and since then, anything that we've needed he's been very helpful with. A small part ending up breaking and he sent me out to Scott (also a helpful guy who knows what he's doing and been doing it forever) and was able to give me a new one free of charge, under warranty without a hassle. I had no clue how to winterize and he went into one of his models with my dad and I to show us how to do it and let me video tape him so I could have it as reference. (It's a little more difficult with the washer hookup models). Anytime I've had to go in for propane fill ups, TP, random camping supplies, it's busy. So yes, I might need to wait my turn if a couple people are being helped in front of me, but I'm not going to give a poor review like others just because people are impatient. Very friendly helpful people.Very large selection of camping and rv needs.Lots of campers for sale.Only thing we were upset about was filling the rv propane tanks.We just moved here and didnt know about them and had been filling our tanks at tractor supply and one other place we found.they all charge for the gallon.He charged us $30 per tank.TWICE as much as tractor supply.We questioned him about the $60 and said it was right.we left in disbelief and wont fill them there again. read more

my wife and i had a problem with our air conditioner on our 5th wheel. We called Robert Handy Camping Center and spoke with Scott. He went through the process for the warranty work made an appointment for us. We arrived at our appointment time spoke with Scott and our work was done in what seemed like a matter of minutes which it took longer our work was done and i could not ask for a more efficient and well done repair. While there my wife ask if they could give us a quote on slide toppers. We had gotten prices from other camping install sources and knew what or around the price would be long story short we had Scott install the slide toppers on our 5th wheel. We could not ask for a better and much cheaper install. We are very happy with the service we received and the customer service. Scott And Robbie and all were very friendly and attended to our needs. I will be using and recommending Robert Handy Camping Center for all my repair needs. read more
