I tried rest and ice, stretching, supportive shoes, standard shoe inserts, EPAT, cortisone injections, Laser, and physical therapy. The only treatment left was surgery. I moved to UT before I could go forward with the surgery and after unpacking I visited Dr. Seegmiller with the idea that he would do my surgery. He suggested taping my foot and custom inserts first, and they worked! All of my pain is gone! I am even back to hiking and running. "Good Feet" has no warranty, no refund, untrained and uncertified personnel fitting you with their cheap plastic "arch supports." (Good Feet succeeds only in states like Utah where professional licensing laws are weak.) In marked contrast, Ben Watson at PERFECT Feet is professionally trained and certified. The initial process is much more involved than the few minutes of "assessment" you get at GF. He custom builds your orthotics out of very solid material. They should probably last forever. And they cost only about $300 - $400 compared to the $1500 you will spend at GF. On top of that, you return without further charge so Ben may adjust them until they are working PROPERLY. In my case, I was a very difficult customer. I kept returning and Ben kept adjusting -- without charge -- over and over again. I realize now that much of what I was asking him to do was really making things worse. I was the problem. By the time I finished messing around, I think we had gotten back to almost the same place where the orthotics had been before I started being dumb. I've discovered that SMART people will stay as far away from "GOOD FEET" as they possibly can. Instead, they will go to Perfect Feet and Ben Watson, because the name of his business says it all.

And his shoes and inserts combined were less that 1/5 the price of what Good Feet quoted me. I drove clear from Taylorsville to Ogden, and I'm so glad I did! His exam was only $45, and he doesnt make a profit from the shoes, he recommended I buy them from Amazon. Also, he said that if there are any fitting problems with shoe, he could fix them. Even Podiatrists can't do what he does, which is the study of walking/running. He can custom create solutions and prevent problems.
