I went to Baker Eye Institute - don't ever go. Trust me!…read more I had a chalazion removed from my right eyelid and had a terrible experience. Because of my anxiety Dr Baker said he could remove it at the surgery center in Conway. He said I wouldn't feel a thing. From the moment I got to the surgery center I was telling the staff that I was extremely anxious. They took me back and put an IV port in my arm. They said to be sure and tell the nurse anesthetist about my anxiety. I was in a room, by myself, for over an hour. Nothing to distract me. The nurse anesthetist came in and I told her about my anxiety and she assured me that I wouldn't know or feel anything and that she would be sure to come in a few minutes early to make sure I was "out". She came in, gave me 6mg of versed (I believe) and as soon as she moved the doctor was there. He said, "How are you doing?" and I replied, "Extremely anxious". He then proceeded to start working! Turned my eyelid inside out, etc. The whole time I'm saying (basically) "OW, OW!" and clutching the table so I don't swing at him! I waited until my follow up appointment so that I could discuss this with him. His response, "Well, it's over now. I'll see you in a year." I drove an hour to the center and now have a bill that is almost $1000! If I had known that I would feel, and know, everything I could have had this done in the office. Actually, I would have gone to another doctor! This guy has no "bedside manner" and appears to be in this just for the money! My surgery was on August 18th, and I decided to wait to address this until I was in person at my follow up appointment, yesterday, September 16th, instead of going straight to a negative review. I wanted to speak to him about the experience. But, you know, "It's over now". He doesn't give a rip. I will NEVER recommend this guy!

Russell Dermatology Of Conway - My blood filled index finger was so big I couldn't bend it. It was suppose to look like my ring finger.

My doctor referred me to Dr. Brian Russell at Russell Dermatology for a baseline exam. When I told…read moremy husband, who is very low-key, he enthusiastically responded, "Oh, he is GREAT! I really liked him!" We actually had met both Brian and his wife, Dr. Shelley Russell, at a party this summer, so I knew I would feel comfortable with him. But I had no idea how amazing the patient service would be! They called twice in the two days before my appointment to remind me. I arrived at 1:10 p.m. for my 1:15 appointment. I sat down and had barely cracked my book when they called me back. Thinking I would be waiting in the exam room for awhile after the nurse told me what to do and left, I got my book out. Again, I had no time to read, as Dr. Russell arrived just as I opened my book. We chatted a bit about Malcolm Gladwell (my book's author) and other things. He told me how the exam would go and he called in his nurse. I felt very at ease and he talked to me about everything he was observing. At the end, he said there was a mole he would be more comfortable removing but said he was willing to watch it if that's what I elected. I said I wanted to remove it as well, thinking I would have to make another appointment, but no! He did it right then. I was processed and out of the office in less than 30 minutes! Honestly, I couldn't believe how fast it was, coupled with the quality interaction and the short procedure he performed. This positive impression was compounded when his nurse called and left me a voice mail about the results of the pathology test. I returned her call, again expecting delays and phone tag, but she answered the phone, gave me the results, and I was finished. This practice has patient service and relations down to a fine art! I also think both Drs. Russell are smart, personable, warm and adept. What a great experience all around! I recommend them without any reservations -- that is unless you want to get some reading done. :-)

When she voiced her concerns and asked for another option she was belittled, told that her research was wrong (although she searched actual medical journals for her information)and was told to stop playing Dr. Google. As an intelligent woman, my daughter has decided she would rather have a doctor that listens and treats her as a human being and takes her concerns seriously. Very disappointed in Dr. Staggs. Wish I could give 0 stars. *updated to add that, my daughter was under MY parental authority as her mother at the time. Instead of reaching out to do anything at all about the situation, this office kept flagging my review to have it removed, citing that it was second hand account. It was not, and I am the one who took her to this appointment, on my dime. this review is being resubmitted since Yelp notified me in June that they removed it. As a parent, please be aware of who you let "care" for your children*
