HOME STORE & MORE The Home Store in the Mahon Point retail…read morepark is one of the brightest in the complex and just the place to get what you need for the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom. It sells glassware, candles, curtains, electrical items and bedding and much more. Needed a replacement kettle and picked up a Swiss one there, also some potpourri (from a large selection, much larger then Debenhams and much more reasonably priced). Didn't expect to see large size rugs there but they had some and had started to take a poke through when one of the staff told me that some 800 were due in the morning. So I thanked him for the helpful info and decided to wait as that large consignment seemed very promising indeed.

Called there the other day, looking for a tea strainer (for my loose leaf tea from Little Buddha in McCurtain Street). I had one look at the shelves and decided to ask rather than poke around. No bother. The helpful friendly assistant found not quite the strainer with handle but a globe type with chain than you hang over side of cup. Could see it would do the job just as well, paid my €3.50 and left a happy customer. We made a few visits to the store before deciding and each time got help and advice, all given in a very friendly way by the couple on duty. When we decided on the purchase, we got a nice little discount. The delivery date was projected for about four weeks. Sure enough, we got a call to arrange a day around the end of the period. The two lads arrived with the sofas spot on time, got them in efficiently and then put on the little legs and tided up, all done with good humour and friendliness. We were told this store is the largest Irish gift store in all of Ireland. Maybe the world. It had…read moreseveral floors and sold everything from kitchen magnets to a dining room set. Free shipping on items over 250 euros. We bought a few items there and comparitively noticed the prices were a bit better than other gift shops. The staff is very friendly. They also have these little rolling trolley baskets to put your things in while you're shopping. Glad we were able to shop there. They take all forms of payment.

Pretty impressive! We only had about 30 minutes to browse Blarney Woollen Mills. In that time, Wifey found a very cool jacket to purchase at an affordable price point. In that time, she also forgot her sunglasses at the shop. We already faraway from the shop when she realized that she misplaced it. She immediately called the shop, but by that time the sunglasses were nowhere to be found. The employee who answered the phone was not very helpful or sympathetic though. Very sad and disappointing customer service!!! Despite the loss of my wife's beloved sunglasses, it was still an okay experience overall. This shop carrys all kinds of clothes, crafts, food, plus so much more. Blarney Woollen Mills is known as having the great Irish Shopping Experience after all. Absolutely check this place out after you kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle of course. Just don't forget any of your possessions while you are here because chances are great that they will be unable to help you.

ARGOS The Argos store in the Mahon Point Retail Centre has…read moreloads of parking and that is one of its attractions. The staff too are friendly and efficient, as we found out today. Checked our item on the screen - seven in stock. Took the docket to the friendly lady at the office, paid up and went to the waiting area. Two minutes later, we were on the way out the door with our purchase under our arm. Happy campers. By the way, our receipt entitled us to enter an internet draw for a 1000 euro. That is now done. Fingers crossed!

Dunnes is like the Target of Ireland. Clothes, groceries and probably lawnmowers if you look hard…read moreenough. While I can't speak for the landscaping options, the grocery store is outstanding. Perhaps not the most inexpensive, but there's a fantastic selection and everything is well stocked. Besides, it seems kind of silly to buy some things here and others down the street at LIDL.
