It's the type of place you would go in to with your girlfriend, wife, sister or even mother and they'd point out all the flowers and trinkets and say, 'Awk isn't that cute?' to which you'd nod back agreeing. So what brought such a manly man like myself to The Flower Room I hear you ask? Well, I was looking for boxes, not manly wooden boxes but the wee cardboard types you can put gifts in. I thought The Flower Room would be a good bet to get them because they have a whole array of gifts arranged beautifully out the front of the shop. As soon as I walked in to the shop, which is a converted terrace house, I heard a big 'Hello' coming from upstairs and a 'Can I help you?' Kathryn the owner then rushed down to see if she could help in my quest for a box. She literally hunted in her storeroom to see if she could help me and when she couldn't she listed loads of other shops that I might be able to get the desired box. This was absolutely remarkable service. I actually ended up chatting to her for a while - she was telling me that The Flower Room specialise in Weddings but are busy for the impending Valentines Day as well as other 'flowery' holidays. The shop is beautifully arranged and I would suggest going in just to experience the warmth atmosphere on offer. They have a full range of gifts and a few garden products - The Flower Room is a shining example of a great independent business, forget buying bouquets online.

They were wonderful to deal with by phone and online. Their flowers were always exceptional. It appears they have moved/sold the company to Mimosa Florists. I found out when I went to order today. I got bouquets, buttonholes, flowers in vases for the reception (which they went to the bother of tying so I could hand them out to people as they were leaving) and a teeny tiny buttonhole about the size of a buttecup for my little tiny pageboy. Other florists tried to tell me that the bouquets were so expensive because they had to buy so many spare of the highest grade of flowers. Maybe if you're a connoisseur, you would see a difference, but to me they were just the same as other fresh flowers - no nonsense flowers at no nonsense prices.

They exceeded my expectations in every way! My daughter and I have a very dear cousin in Belfast. We wanted to send her a bouquet of flowers, from each of us, for her birthday. I couldn't find my usual go-to florist and picked Norah Mitchell's due to their photographs, and price. I live in California and my daughter and her family live on the east coast. Vicki was wonderful to deal with on email and Carolyn was very kind and helpful on the phone. Flower arrangements were lovely and very affordable. Even my daughter remarked how beautiful and affordable her arrangement was. We highly recommend them and will be using them again during the upcoming Christmas holiday! Tim is very ably assisted by his team, including the redoubtable Neil (his dad) and together they make the world of cut flowers a better place. My sister-in-law once ordered flowers online for me (she lives in NewcastleUpon Tyne) and I knew they were from Foral Earth the second I clpped eyes on them. By the time I arrived, and expected to receive fresh flowers, the water in the vase was all dirty, and as a result, no fresh morning flowers as an expected gift. Very upsetting. I asked for a refund of the extra fee they charged, but they disagreed, as it "would be too complicated".
