I got their trio of tartare as well as their potatoes. The 3 tartare were: classic, vegetable, and mint. The vegetable one was far and above my favorite. Second was the mint. The mint gave it a more Middle Eastern taste which worked. My least favorite was the classic. I've had much tastier "classic" tartares and this one tasted like they put ketchup in it or something like that. I was not a fan. The potatoes seasoned with Herbes de Provence were good. The atmosphere is nice too and almost feels cave/cellar like. They have a number of other delicious looking tapas to choose from and I definitely would return.

Le Briey is a relatively compact very local Lyonaisse restaurant that seems to specialize in…read morepromoting local wines. Accordingly, their menu is quite limited - but don't be put off by that. When the three of us visited on July 7, 2016, the menu consisted of three plats (plates) items (no entrees, or appetizers to the non-French) hand written on a chalkboard. We sat outside in a street-side parking area blocked off for tables - not to worry, it wasn't a very busy street. The very friendly good-humored chef explained the menu options to us in broken English which was interesting for all of us. Wine is sold only by the bottle, so with the huge wine list we just had to ask for his suggestion. After he brought a bottle and opened it for us to sample, and left it with our approval, we noticed it was the most expensive on his chalkboard wine list (51€)! We were actually charged far less for it :) Our concerns about leaving hungry (due to lack of entrees) was totally unfounded. The main course servings were generous, very well-prepared, and tasty. I personally had a beef tartare prepared in Italian style (with chopped tomatoes and seasonings mixed in) and it was very good. Duck and main dish salad options were had by the other diners. I opted for a cheese selection for dessert, which didn't look huge, but was actually quite filling and an amazing presentation (see my uploaded photos). Two of us went back a few hours later to watch France vs. Germany in the Euro 2016 tournament and were warmly welcomed to hang out with the chef and a small group of local patrons. I'm not sure I will ever get back to Lyon, but we had many memorable meals there, Le Briey included.
