I begged, pleaded, and groveled to no avail. She simply shooed me out of her store as it was closing time. Dejected, I went back home a few days later but found that it was available through Emma Bridgewater online however it would have cost almost twice to ship to California. I simmered on the thought of purchasing a tea towel for nearly $50 and decided against it. A few months later my birthday comes around and one of my gal pals surprised me with a "I HAD A REALLY NICE DREAM LAST NIGHT ABOUT DANIEL CRAIG" tea towel. I was over the moon. Apparently she has a friend who lives in London who bought it for her and sent it to give to me. That was thoroughly sweet and thoughtful. A cup is different though. Whatever you write on a cup it inevitably just ends up saying 'I really find peppermint tea helps me to digest better' or 'I drink green tea and therefore I FEEL ALIVE ALL THE TIME'. To be fair, the Bridgewater slogans don't ever allude to Paris Hilton and in general they are fairly sweet adding a little bit of personality and lightness to kitchen stuff. They do loads of it, there's whole crockery sets on offer, for kids too, as well as mugs, cups and utensils.
