In a time when moving companies you hire online are more likely to scam and cheat you than give you good value, it is really refreshing to know there are movers like Hansen's still out there. They recently moved us from Redding CA to northern FL. The entire experience was handled professionally and we were able to count on them to follow through with literally everything they said they'd do. Hansen's is the most professional moving experience we have ever had! The crew is amazing, they were always promt (our move took 2 days packing and two days moving) and so kind and polite. The packing was done so fast we were amazed! They were so patient with furniture placement, making sure everything was exactly where we wanted it. The whole crew had such great attitudes, they showed up in a great mood each day and were extremely accomidating. We had many breakable items and nothing was broken, all arrived in perfect condition. All boxes were well labeled so it was easy to locate everything. We also had a piano moved and they delivered and placed perfectly. They did a great job with my move from Redding to the Bay Area. They sent two guys over to move everything in my 2 bedroom apartment and they managed just fine. I had already packed the boxes myself. Important items included the heavy wood furniture and TV. The treadmill was the really hard one to move, especially since it was on the 2nd floor. They did look at it warily but were in good spirits and moved it without complaint. The moving truck was kept overnight in their facility before driving it over to the Bay, where I met one of them the next day. No scratches or damage to any items. (On last note, they did not arrive wearing masks, but neither did I ask. I just kept my distance. I'm sure if I asked, they would have worn them.) read more

Last year I had Hansen's Moving & Storage move my baby grand piano that I bought on Craigslist to my home. There were no problems. I just moved into a new house and waited until I settled in before calling Hansen's again to move just the baby grand piano. They were prompt, early in fact, and professional with their communication and work, but only up until they arrived at my place and delivered the piano to the new location. When they installed everything, the keys were askew and shifted, some of the keys were stuck, and there was a new, large scratch from a screw on the piano where the lid closed and hadn't been protected by the cloths that they inserted. I was surprised by the new scratch and said that it was new, and this was obvious from the new dust inside the groove that the screw had made, and it was a lighter color, versus the older scratches that had been smoothed and worn down from age. Don't get me wrong, this piano has seen years of use and has a lot of damage, wear, and scratches on the body, but this was an obvious new scratch, and the guy who seemed to be leading the delivery, Chase, acted like I was making a big deal about a new scratch on an old piano that already had damage to the finish, even to the point of suggesting that he did not quite believe me that it was a new scratch, and pointed out the old scratches that were already there. The whole point was that Hansen's is a professional moving company that claims to be able to move pianos, and this is not with a disclaimer that they "might damage your piano in the process." You hire a company who will move it professionally, the right way, and will not damage your piano, otherwise you can rent a truck for $40 and move it yourself with the risk that you might damage it without having the right know-how and equipment. I normally review good companies when I have a good experience because I want to help promote the smaller, local companies who go out of their way to provide good customer service. I am disappointed by my second experience with Hansen's. I thought I would be giving a five star review today, but unfortunately I cannot, and will not in the near future. I don't know that I'll ever hire Hansen's again. Too bad, so disappointing. read more

I am moved to review this company before I even have lunch today. Highest praise for this outfit. Let's face it - moving sucks. No one enjoys it, and it brings stress beyond measure. Will my precious grandmother's vase break? Will my family jewels mysteriously disappear? To be honest, I have none of those things - but I do stress over the cost, the headache, the risk the movers will mock my dust bunnies (and their giant cousins). The two men who moved my crappy stuff were friendly, professional, fast, and extremely helpful; giving me helpful tips along the way. They were done in no time flat. Not a single break, scratch, or scuff. Worth every penny of the surprisingly reasonable cost. I would recommend Hansen's Movjng with absolutely no reservations. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mark and his crew! Everyone was EXTREMELY polite, friendly and professional. They all had a sense of humor and seemed to enjoy their work. If they don't, they put on a great show. They were a little bit late delivering (traffic), but definitely made up for it by being speedy and extremely helpful during the unloading. Mark Risk is a great guy but the movers themselves were less than professional. It seems like the best way to describe them is that they take pride in how tight they can stuff your belongings into their truck. We had several pieces broken. We asked for them specifically to help us wrap and pack framed art, and the flat screens. There was no boxes brought for these items. They opened our sealed wardrobe boxes and slid dusty artwork in with our clothes. We didn't know about it till we got to our new house. They showed up late and didn't seem like there was any reason to move at a brisk pace. Even though all of them were respectful, I kept finding broken and damaged pieces. The flat screens were wrapped in moving blankets and when moved in we had to clean sweaty face prints and arm prints from all of them. We paid a fair price but really were disappointed with the level of care. No follow up from the company. Sorry guys I won't recommend you. read more

We moved during the Carr fire crisis; while the owners had to evacuate their own home, they remained supportive, responsive and professional to assist us in our move to Sacramento; the movers who packed, loaded and drove our household goods 170 miles away took great care to wrap all furniture in blankets, place runners in hallway and pack everything without any damage or loss items. After 30+ years at our location, we moved our office across town and I could not be more pleased with the service from Hansen's. They arrived promptly at 7:15 am and worked until 7 pm with 4 guys. These guys did yeoman's work and were careful and professional. They were not only one of the hardest working crews I have ever seen, but also one of the friendliest and most polite. We were on a second floor location with no elevator so moving 20+ full file cabinets as well as all the other furniture was a task I did not want to undertake! We obtained multiple bids and they were quite competitive! They protected our things and there was only one broken chair which they promised to fix. I would definitely use them again!! read more

Last April I needed to move a 2 bedroom home across town, and with numerous moves under my belt I've a pretty good idea of what it takes. Unfortunately, the two guys they sent had completed a strenuous commercial move the day before with several trips up and down stairs. On the day of my move they made no bones about the fact that they were pretty tired from the day before. On your typical move the unloading takes 1/2 the amount of time of loading the truck. Only this time it took them just as long to unload as to load. I shouldn't have to pay for the additional hours they took because of being tired. While nothing was damaged, I don't really want to use this company again due to the additional costs. read more

I had a fabulous experience with Hansens. They packed me up, held my household for 3 weeks, and delivered on time. All their movers were professional. They introduced themselves at our first loading. The same crew did the delivery. Every box landed in the correct room. The washer and dryer were hooked up. All the glass table tops were protected and placed in the correct table. No one thought of leaving until all was done.........and done well. I never felt they were rushed. My move was from Redding to El Dorado Hills with a storage of three weeks in between.
