Likewise, two other Jewish families whom I am acquainted moved here and called for the same. ( 2018, 2023 ) And, likewise, they were never called back. Nothing. Ever. Bubkis. An elderly Jewish friend from Brooklyn visited my B&B last year when I and my family were having Seder out of state. Wanting and apparently needing 'community', she went to the Jewish Center for Passover. A douche named Bruce Grossman, told her he was a founding member, that she was sitting in a reserved area, and that since she didn't reserve online, she wasn't welcome and goodbye. No smile. More like she was a bother. Dismissive and curt and rude and arrogant. She left. She then went to the Chabad. She was heartily welcomed, and had the food, laughter and community she so desired. Though I am far from Orthodox, every Jew I know here in Taos is welcomed and lauded so much by our local Chabad. The rabbi calls or stops by just to say hello. Everyone is welcomed. Not here. Here, you are not even worth a call back. Community? Here? Balderdash. Seriously, this place sucks and is the antithesis of everything I ever knew or was taught about Judaism. Once, this place set up a table in front of Cids, seeking donations and selling tickets for an event and seeing my yarmulke, called me over. They asked if I wanted to donate. I held back and didn't tell them what I really thought of them. That I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. Just nodded no, and walked on. And then when home, sent a very generous donation unrequested to Chabad. Where you are welcomed and cherished though you might be FAR from religious. Did I mention that this place, The Jewish Center, sucks?

With clean adobe lines and huge buttresses, it is an architectural and spiritual gem. Built between 1772 and 1816, it is the only original church which remains intact in the Taos area. As an active place of worship, the parishioners and the community members gather annually to re-plaster the historic adobe church. Known as "The Enjarre" or "The Mudding" of the church, volunteers mix an authentic blend of clay, sand, straw, and water into a thick mud paste. Layer by layer, the paste is applied from the top to the bottom of the church and then buffed with a sheepskin to reinforce the walls to be a resilient barrier to withstand the elements for another year. A bit tricky to find as the church is tucked away off the main highway, but definitely worth a visit.

He routinely includes art in his messages which seems appropriate for Taos and is interesting. The church is Biblical following the Great Commission in its outreach to the community and giving to foreign missions. The music is traditional worshipful and a bit nostalgic. Love meeting with people who feel similarly about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
