My mom, who is not, cares for him and needed assistance with tasks of daily living. This aide was constantly on her phone, and refused to do any lifting because she had had a c-section (Why they would send her in the first place is beyond me). Though my dad needs help getting up, and lifting him is occasionally necessary, my mom said nothing. But once this home aide got comfortable and saw my mom was not going to challenge her she became more brazen and rude. After my parents had lunch together, the home aide screamed at my mom for leaving dishes in the sink, saying she was not going to clean up after her. While it's true she is not responsible for my mom's one dish, that is no way to speak to her or anyone you work for. When I called the company to complain, the people who worked there were just as rude as the home aide, especially Stephanie, who is supposedly a care coordinator. Apart from many more episodes like this, just getting anyone to answer the phone at Preferred is a feat. In the case of an emergency, like when the home aide was screaming at my mom and would not leave, I waited for 20 minutes on the line. Once you hit 20 minutes on hold they hang up on you! If you must use Preferred, DO NOT work with the home aide named Frangy. She is clearly unhinged.

Mel's Quality Care was right there with us during a time when our family had to make some serious and hard decisions about my mothers in home care. Mel was kind, compassionate and understanding to our needs and the needs of my mom. She worked diligently with us and the services providers to deliver the utmost professional and quality service. I was very pleased with the level of professionalism demonstrated by Mel and her team . She made herself available anytime we called to answer questions and provide guidance on some of the most sensitive matters to ensure Mom's needs were met. Mel's Quality Care Service provided excellent care for my 101 year old mother who was recuperating from pneumonia. The M.Q.C.S. care providers were dependable, cheerful, and capable in managing my mother's medical and therapy regimens. Additionally, they prepared meals and kept the house in order. Mel was very attentive, checking in regularly to see that things were going smoothly. My mother made a complete recovery in time to celebrate her 102nd birthday. First Olga the owner came to our house and gave us a false impression that everything would be fine. Then she promised a sweet lady would come and help my mother. The next day a big man shows up to my Mothers house and goes into her bedroom; literally scaring her pants off. She was ready to call the police. My mother called me and I called Olga who then sent him home and gave us another care giver. This new caregiver barely did anything, complained, and was a disgrace of a person...let alone a "caregiver". Next day we were promised a new person and a new caregiver came but smelled like drugs and oils. She neglected my mom for three hours and my mom had to call up the agency to find out where she was. If anything bad would have happened, the aid would have gone to jail for neglect and the agency would have been held accountable legally. She also neglected my mom towards at the end of her life at Plainview Hospital. She went out for three hours, instead with my mom. My father came in the hospital room and didn't find her. She came back within hours and threw out of the room. On June 14 2024, my mom fell on the dining room floor. The aide Joyce didn't follow my father's instructions not to walk alone with her. Joyce the aide didn't call 911 and the agency. My father who I a retired physician did.
